Yea, I was pulling for him last year. Bratt and Cat are very similar in some ways. I think DeBrincat has some better defensive qualities and has a better shot. Bratt is more creative on the offensive side but can backcheck pretty well

I believe this as well. I think it less about money and more about location with Cat. He didn't seem to care for the Canadian lifestyle. Bratt wanting more than what Fitzgerald is willing to pay might get the ball rolling on this kind of deal.

I've said that I can see this happening if there is an impasse on both sides on both teams. Cat might be willing to be more reasonable if he's signed with an American team. If Bratt is looking to rich for our wallets. Similar players in all. I think DeBrincat has a better defensive quality about him in his game.

Lol, I made a acgm where I sent Bratt, Stillman and a 2nd for Nylander. I thought was a fair deal. Of course it was not received well and was told not enough for Nylander and it doesn't make the Leafs any better. Apparently a older, smaller, more expensive option would be better.

This is a bigger overpay than what Tampa gave up for Jeannot.

Also, Bratt for Nylander is a terrible move for the Devils.
The difference in ability between the two is negligible, but Bratt being an RFA and 2 years younger makes him the much better option for the allowing the Devils to be a contender for as long as possible.
Luckily there are rumblings that Fitzgerald and Bratt's camp are close to agreeing a deal.</div></div>

Everyone looks at a player with high skill and sees more value, like Holtz. You may think that as an overpay for Colton but he will give us something we lack and that is grit.

As far as Nylander, He's a bit more skilled than Bratt and I think you have to compensate for that. Like I said I'd be happy with Bratt signing with us.
