Yeah it is, I went to the trading screen and saw Kaprizov was on the block(have no idea why) so I went to offer something and holtz’s value was just as high as kaprizovs

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>BeautifulIdiot</b></div><div>Yep, NHL 22 is fricked</div></div>
I feel like NHL 22 did not bring much improvements, I like X factors and roster sharing but the new engine sucks and the game is so glitchy. On top of not adding stuff like contract negotiations to BAP. I also hate how they changed the Jersey tuck in nhl 21. In NHL 20 and before it look cool like a normal jersey tuck. Now it is weird and goes up to the players upper back

That doesn’t mean we want Zacha, he sucks at center and he is also bad at winger, no way he ever replaces backstrom as 2c. The caps may look to trade Vanecek but not for Zacha we don’t want him keep the bust to yourself

Good point, what really worries me is backstrom as if he retires they will need to find a replacement fast which will be an incredibly difficult task.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>All_Knowing</b></div><div>I dont see MAF signing with the Caps but I do like this.
The only thing I disagree with is your assessment on the Mantha trade. Let me first say, disagreeing is a strong word. I do agree that he hasn't lived up to the amount we paid for him. BUT, and I have no statistical backing of this, I think he has a breakout year this upcoming season.
And actually, I think the Caps break through and advance to the 3rd round next postseason. We have the salary cap finally needed to bring in the right pieces, our youth movement has begun (finally), and we should get an established goalie</div></div>
I love the idea of Fleury coming to the caps but I agree I don’t see it happening the problem is we need a strong reliable starting goalie and I feel like the Free Agent and trade market is weak or too expensive for that right now

They need youth
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>NoVaSpartan</b></div><div>The Mantha trade has been far from a failure in DC. While losing him to injury for much of the year hurts, Vrana had the same issue, and Mantha is better at creating plays, getting into dirty areas that Vrana doesn't do nearly as much, and plays a better defensive game than Vrana. The 2nd rounder given up to make the upgrade was definitely worth it, and I get the feeling that this will become clearer next season.
Fleury at 4.5 is... well rough. He's going into his age 38 season and is about the same sv% goalie as Vanecek. Whatever experience he would bring would, at best, offset the 4.5 mil you have him getting, which could look really bad about 10 games into next season.
I wouldn't touch Mikheyev if he's asking for 4 million, if you want to play the youth, there's a good place to insert some. Protas or Leason come to mind.
As for Keller himself, I can't see Arizona trading him. Yes, he is 23, but in about 4-5 years when the team is contending he will be hitting the prime of his career, so trading him for reasons of not being important when they contend is something I wouldn't agree with.</div></div>
I can see your points except for mikheyev, he is really fast, strong 2-way player and actually had a pretty good year this year, adding him to the caps 3rd line is exactly what they need, it doesn’t need to be at that price but whatever price they can get him at I think they really need him

Yeah I agree, on top of hitting the post on the empty net. The bad luck in game 4 will be the biggest factor in the caps losing the series

Yeah, I think the caps did well in the begin Because they took a lot of motivation and confidence into the series and now because of the last 2 games I feel like they have lost a lot of it so hopefully they regain it

If I was the devils I would do the sharks or totes trade especially the yotes trade, getting Chychrun is good but add on Crouse who is someone the devils good really use that seems like a good trade and we aren’t gonna get more than that for the pick at least value wise

This high in draft, take best player, decent chances they will be stars. Can figure out where to put them later. And having three top centers is never a problem.</div></div>
It is a problem as they won’t all be able to unleash their full potential and that hurts the team

To me, that means one of Wright, Cooley, Nemec or Slafkovsky.</div></div>
Usually it is best to take the best player, but they are at a stage where they don’t need more prospects and they shouldn’t be drafting a franchise center when they already have one and a elite 2c. They don’t need wright or Cooley and they would be better off trading them for an impact winger or goalie

They can’t wait a couple years there stars are getting older just like every team and they have a core now is the time to build around that core this organization is an embarrassment to the organization it once was. It was once a proud successful dynasty but not it is a orginization that can’t rebuild many teams have crashed and rebuilt during the time the devils have been rebuilding. They need to wrap it up, they are losing fans, if they start the year of badly next year they are gonna have a full year of empty seats and a huge loss of money. There are already season ticket holders canceling because of how unbearable it is. The time is now

Slafkovsky coming from Europe will probably not play right away and it would be best for his development if he didn’t. They definitely shouldn’t take Nemec as he would be stuck as 3 RD and they need to focus on upgrading winger depth and goalies

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>All_Knowing</b></div><div>I think the Caps will be really good next season (depending on who they bring in obviously). But this old team has the potential to get some new life in them. Hear me out:
In order of priorities:
Trade Eller - sub in McMichael - gives you around $9.5 mil
Buy out Hags (or he retires)
Resign Sammy (or VV depending on who management wants - I would say Sammy for 2 x $2.5mil)
Bring in a goaltender - either Kuemper or Husso. I do not want anyone else. Holtby is past his time (and people forget that yes he had a great postseason in 2018, but leading up to that, he was pretty awful in the regular season).
Bring in a solid top 6 goal scorer (like Mikheyev or Nichushkin)
Bring in a defensive dman (preferably LHD) or assess Alexeyev and Johansen (last I heard, Alexeyev had a so so year and Johansen finally is coming together)</div></div>
That wouldn’t be bad, I definitely want to get mikheyev because I think he would be a big addition especially his speed

I don't mind signing Holtby but no way in hell am I signing him for that deal. Can probably get him for 1 year at $1M.
I do like Mikheyev but they'll have more money to get a player like Nichushkin, who's a better Mikheyev.</div></div>
I can see your points except for Mikheyev I think he has a different skill set than nichuskin and he is much much faster which is something this team needs. I think Holtby would be a huge addition. I am in favor of bringing up a young guy instead of Subban but I feel like there aren’t any ready and they need an offensive D-man to replace Schultz

You are right, I have thought this the past 4 years. It’s not that they aren’t good enough, they just don’t care enough, you can see it when they play they just stop trying sometimes. They should have won and they could have last night, they have more than 1 terrible defensive plays that lead to goals. Those were things they weren’t doing in Game 1-4. They stopped playing good smart defensive after Florida scored 1 goal. It is so frustrating as a caps fan to know that your team will never make it past the first round with the current group.

I agree with signing Holtby but I would keep Sammy and do a tandem of Sammy and Holtby because that worked well last time and Sammy has finally showed his potential and has played really well
