When you have to edit the video to edit out the part where Marner skates into him and creates that contact to try to make the point, it's not a very good one. Marner skated into Seguin to create the contact. If he hadn't done that, then there's no contact with Seguin and Samsonov. It was the right call, even if it's not popular with Leafs fans.

The clip they showed in the feed from behind the net, as well as what the refs said when they explained the call, said that it was Marner who pushed Samsonov. Seguin was only sliding towards Marner after shooting the puck. The two seconds before that wasn't shown in the clip were crucial.

marner boxing out seguin didn't cause seguin to push samsonov but okay.
