It would be a terrific deal, but I wouldn't quite call it the best in the league. Here are the ones that come to mind for me (excluding those who have just 1 year left on their deals, e.g. Nathan MacKinnon, Roope Hintz and MacKenzie Weegar):

Adam Pelech (8 x 5.75 million)

Ryan Pulock (8 x 6.15 million)

Igor Shesterkin (4 x 5.66 million)

Victor Hedman (8 x 7.875 million)

Elias Lindholm (6 x 4.85 million)

Devon Toews (4 x 4.1 million)


Pulock & Pelech deals expire when they're 34 and 35 respectively, an eight-year deal for Dobson would expire when he's 30.

Even if its not McMichael if its a young player like Lunderstrom, Kaliyev, or other young developing guys I would be okay but not thrilled. Either way its a round 2 battle of Dubas vs the Sweds so lets see as if he can get Sandin to buckle than reps for players know he means business and wont be a pushover

Bedard leaving for Vancouver is honestly a possibility. He has made no effort in interviews and such to hide the fact that he is a huge Canucks fan boy. Expect the Canucks PJs to come soon
