i recently watched them in episode order to kind of understand the story a little more, and the entire premise of anakin and his mom being slaves and Qui-gon not being able to free anakins mom as well as anakin meeting queen amedalla sets up the entire 3rd movie. theres so much told thats overlooked in episode one that it gets a bad rap. imo most of the movie is boring but the underlying story is important.
