OTT declines, not trading a top 10 pick for fiala

My instincts say that Dorion will end up trading it, whether it be for Fiala or someone else.

Instinks are wrong dude because they can get that top six forward out of that pick and hey it might end up being third overall. Also Sens can be quite good without moving it and getting Fiala. Also the value for Fiala keeps on going up, soon it'll be Sanderson and the 2022 unprotected and 2023 unprotected and wild fans will still argue that that's not enough.

In think you’re right about everything you said but I think Dorion is dumb enough to do something like this. He’s been infatuated with the Wild all season and I wouldn’t be surprised to see something like this go down. No doubt if Dorion is trying to acquire Fiala that Guerin will get the best of Dorion.

I think that LA or Jersey or someone will offer a better offer, especially LA considering the prospect pool. If it is moved though I could see a unprotected 2024 first round pick and maybe a player like Jarventie or Thompson both of whom are very close to playing. Doubt it is this years first. Really hoping the Sens lose out on him cause well he is a really good player I think that there are better options for the Sens personally and the play of Joseph might eliminate the need of Fiala cause he has been insane since moving up and playing with them. Did you see the tik tak tow play last night that they pulled off?

Agreed, still hope it's someone like Burakovsky, Dach, or Giroux that the Sens end up getting, I'd be particularily interested in Dach who is up this summer.

You're right that it is all speculation but there is a lot of common sense involved in it because why would a team that is still technically in a rebuild trade a top ten pick.

Yeah he was a good deadline pick up, just wasn’t getting the time of day in Tampa.

I’m just basing it off what Dorion has said of getting out of the rebuild this season. If he’s trying to get out of the rebuild then I can see him trading this years 1st for immediate help, whether that help comes in the form of Fiala or someone else.

A 2023 1st with some type of protection makes way more sense

Go over to trade machine and you'll see a score of them that don't make sense but make Fiala look like the next Ovechkin. And no that is not the highest it's ever gotten. I've seen unprotected first + like Pinto then a second and third on top of that.

I don’t check trade machine, so I guess that’s the discrepancy. I mean, yes thats objectively terrible. There’s a fairly regular group of wild commenters in the ACGM who all know better than that. If people are throwing out garbage on trade machine, I’m sure that’s true for all fanbases.

If you largely stick to ACGM, you’ll see much more realistic Fiala to OTT proposals, if the author is a wild fan.
