If Avs trade for a guy like Lehkonen who could play anywhere on your bottom six (not playing center tho), where would he play ? Maybe on the 3RW but that means O’Connor 4RW and NAK scratched ? Maybe on the 4LW and keeps O’Connor 3RW and NAK 4RW ?
    COL
    1. Lehkonen, Artturi (1 150 000 $ retained)
    Détails additionnels:
    Couple proposal :

    1. Lehky vs Kaut + 2023 2nd RD pick
    2. Lehky vs Ranta + 2023 2nd RD pick
    3. Lehky vs Olausson
    4. Lehky vs Foudy + 2023 3rd RD pick
    5. Lehky vs Helleson (unlikely)
    6. Lehky vs Barron (unlikely)

Kulak could be added if the cap works

The majority are unlikely, Olausson hellson and Barron aren’t unlikely they are no chance

Lehkonen doesn’t have that value. The foudy one is the most realistic

#1 no retained salary is necessary.

#2 a 2nd for a bottom six guy is a non-starter. Value is a 3rd and perhaps a middling prospect like Ranta if Kulak is included.

Not with a 2nd, that’s an over payment. If they get swindled out of a 2nd, it’s more like beaucage than kaut or ranta

    Hasn’t Kaut’s stock been dropping? At best he’s a 2 way 3RW no?

I don’t think he’s stock is dropping at all, he’s a pro level ready prospect, avs are just too deep for him to be an nhl regular right now

Him and maltsev are showing their games are above the ahl. They need to be on pro rosters somewhere to take the next steps

So kaut is lehkonen level talent ceiling, seems like an over payment for a 3rd line defensive winger

Coleman was a 3rd liner and got 2 1st RD pick
    Goodrow was a 4th liner he got a 1st
Lehkonen is better than Goodrow but Coleman was playing center and got more scoring touch

    No one answered my question
Where would Lehkonen fits in Avs line up if they were to acquire him

    3rd line.
He’d push Compher down to 4th.

Coleman is better than Lehknoen and he had a better contract. Goodrow had only a 900k cap hit for the next year as well, stop trying to apply the same thing to players who got over paid in terms of value, admittedly by the lighting bc they needed their cheap cap hits,

Lehkonen does not have a cheap cap hit

Lets stop with that comparison, you arent getting what Coleman got....full stop

Where the **** did you see one of my proposal including a 1st RD pick and a former 1st RD pick ? I am just saying Lehkonen is somewhere between Coleman and Goodrow in terms of a player, but Earl said 3rd liner are worth 3rd RD picks, which is not true

For you, Lehkonen isn’t only a defensive beast, he can chips some offense as well

I don't think the Avs would be in on Lehkonen, tbh. MTL will want too much (as we see here) and there are other options that would work to shore up the bottom six but won't cost as much. In other words, while Lehkonen is a decent piece, he isn't enough of a difference-maker for the Avs to pursue at the requested price.

Players go for multiple pieces because a single piece often doesn't even turn into replacement value for the player traded. It takes multiple pieces to increase the chance of an equivalent return.

Kaut (or similar players) don't represent enough certainty and/or a high enough ceiling to justify the risk of a 1-for-1 trade.
A player like Barron (position of need) or Kravtsov (high ceiling), may be worth the risk. They represent a win/lose scenario as opposed to multiple shots at breaking even.

For players you are moving regardless, there's nothing wrong with taking the best you can get (Chiarot may not get a 1st, but will still be traded). For a player like Lehkonen who is still useful to the team and under control, you simply don't trade him for an uncertain prospect unless the risk is justified or mitigated.

I could see some GM giving a 2nd for Lehkonen but that's probably it, maybe another later round pick or middling prospect too, just my guess though, maybe some GM goes off the rails and overpays like we've seen before.

If Barron is available like it is being reported, Habs need to do whatever is needed to get him.

Lehk/Chiarot, salary retained, taking Compher contract back, retaining capspace on Giroux, etc...

In 3 years, the defense would be awesome with:

    Ghule-Mailloux
    Romanov-Barron
    Harris-Savard

(Whatever the pairings you choose, it looks very good)

Barron isnt available….the only mention of him was if avs wanted to make a massive move they might have to include Barron in a trade. And that’s a big If

No one is reporting his available, and they aren’t just giving him bc bc of rentals or retained salary

Coleman made less and had mother year left and had 2 20 goal seasons. TBL paid part of that for his contract.

Lehkonen 3rd line with Newhook and probably Compher if he wasn’t traded.

It’s not being reported by anybody that covers the Avs that Barron is available. If anything right now with Byram’s health issues COL is loathe to include Barron in any trade, and there is zero chance they trade Barron for a 3rd liner, they wouldn’t trade Barron for Connor Brown who is significantly better than Lehkonen.
