Jordan Dumais has produced more points than any other 17 YO QMJHL player since 04/05 Crosby. He's surpassed the likes of Huberdeau/Drouin/Lafreniere/Ehlers/Giroux/Dubois

I was so surprised to see him drop that far. IMO has legitimate top six upside and could be a real difference maker at the NHL level despite his size, he can flat out fly. Looking forward to watching how his game translates to the smaller ice.

Very boom or bust but that’s the type of player that should be picked in the 3rd-4th rd.

Off my quick analysis he sounds like another point situation. Gifted player but his huge questions according to Dobber are his skating, size, and defence. It sounds like there’s serious concerns about his skating but hey; that’s a project worth taking when the kids got a rating of superstar potential.

It was lol, but they also had two other opportunities to select him. I’ll never understand what they saw in Fusco or Schingoethe

I have 0 concern about his skating at the NHL level, not sure what Dobber is watching, but his skating is very good.

Yeah he's not an explosive skater, that's why I said he should be an early 2nd, not a top 10 pick

“ He has good speed and is strong on his edges, allowing him to quickly alter course in tight spaces, but he suffers from a lack of stride extension that could make his skating an even greater differentiator. Dumais has shown the ability to quickly identify his options and make a play but there are times when he can hold onto the puck a bit too long waiting for things to develop. His ability to escape pressure helps mitigate that issue at the junior level but he will need to improve that part of his game as he progresses.”

So maybe not a huge mark down but that’s their take which seems not too unreasonable in terms of criticism.

Still tho; I’ll be watching him closely since the more I gather the more interesting of a pick he seems. And as I said; Dobber still rates him nearly the highest star potential.
