Tbh with you, I don't think the Jets need to blow it up. You have a top 3 goalie in the league, some great forwards and decent D. I think retooling is the better option. I think Scheifele and Wheeler need to go and get some faster wingers and probably another D. As an Oilers fan I know pain as well but don't worry man I think with a new coach next year ur team will be good

Demelo is the only thing tmon there the leafs would want and the jets arnt getting robetson or liljegren for him. Not to mention the leafs would still need a proven backup and 8 games of comrie that is not

Two 3rd's is way too much for Stastny. I'd be hesitant to even pay one 3rd for him.

Boston isn't going to give up Lysell. DeBrusk and Frederick can be used in a trade plus the two seconds. Make it a first instead of Lysell and it's more of a consideration

Detroit would love Copp.... In free agency.

We're not trading for expiring contracts. If we miss out on him in FA, it is what it is, but we're not spending draft capital to "get him in here". We'll take our chances in free agency and let the chips fall where they may.

Red Wings decline. Yzerman will just sign him this summer as a UFA. If he signs somewhere else so be it.

The Boston trade isn't realistic as it doesn't give the Jets anything they need if they trade Scheifele and the Leaf trade doesn't have any players that Winnipeg would have interest in.

I'd do a third. I think he'd be good on Newhook's line. Salary is an issue though.

Stastny has 11 goals and 20 points in 31 games this year, averaging 17min a night. I was surprised to see he’s that productive. Winnipeg might be able to sell high on his production and get a bit more than a 3rd.

On paper I think Stastny would be a nice fit with Newhook, like you said. He can continue to play wing and support Newhook defensively and on faceoffs. It would also be pretty sweet for him to come back to Colorado and win. I do wonder about how his skating at this age would fit with Colorado’s style.

Detroit will sign Copp this summer. Rebuilding teams don't pay for rentals. Try a contender.
