for Dube, a rostor player, and a pick. Maybe Hinostroza and a 3rd + 6th

Detroit wouldn't move Hronek without getting some type of quality player back, perhaps in a 1 for 1 or where Detroit adds to upgrade.

          Consider the following:
          1. Detroit's area of least need is RHD due to having Seider + Hronek + Lindstrom; removing Hronek hurts this
          2. Detroit's biggest area of need is arguably up the middle, specifically in the top 6

it's hard to tell Gallaghers worth bc he produces like almost a cap dump, but the Habs also seem to be hesitant in giving him up

Interesting, but I'm not sure we'd want a guy who went through undisclosed surgery and hasn't played since.

Maybe because he's typically a 30 goal scorer outside of this season. It takes more than 25 games to become a cap dump.

Gallagher would be expensive if a team is looking to get him. In other words he's not moving from Montreal unless a team gives a lot for him, and don't think that will be the case

listen I have been there as a sabres fan overvaluing players that you believe bring intangibles, but 6 mil for 10 points in 25 games isnt something you cant replace for cheaper

He scored 30 twice and his next highest is 24, wouldnt say that is typical. Only reason I ask is the sabres have the cap to take him on and mentor the young guys

Ya, but I'm not montreal, I would definitely move Gallagher for maybe a second and a B or B+ prospect. But Gallagher is pretty much the habs captain, and he's not moving for cheap

he has scored at a 30 goal pace the last 4 years...this season is the outlier and not the 30 goal seasons, he is not worth a ton but he is not a cap dump especially if MTL decides to retain...with retention a lesser than the Kessel to PIT deal should be attainable

I don't think that's enough for him, only players of interest would be Dahlin, Krebs and Cozens from Buffalo. I also don't think buffalo should move any of those players.

if there is no retention, maybe... but then a 2nd and 3rd isnt worth trading him.

Anyway if gally wants out of montreal he surely doesn’t want to go to Buffalo. He would want a contending team. Therefore he probably prefer montreal over buffalo

Gallagher would be expensive if a team is looking to get him. In other words he's not moving from Montreal unless a team gives a lot for him, and don't think that will be the case

Hes only expensive if Habs retain. And if you arent getting a lot, there is no sense in trading him. So Habs have to be willing to retain on him.

He scored 30 twice and his next highest is 24, wouldnt say that is typical. Only reason I ask is the sabres have the cap to take him on and mentor the young guys

If Habs dont get a big return, he serves the same role with Habs. No sense in trading him at that point.

You can get Gallagher for a 2nd and a 3rd

Absolutely not, it will be a 1st + 2nd + bad contract. Don't know why everyone thinks he is a cap dump based on 30 games on a struggling team after 4 straight years of 30+ goals (or on pace for 30+ goals). His contract isn't that bad, maybe a half mil to mil too high. Everyone says his play style isn't conducive to a long career but let's not forget Theo Fleury played to the ripe age of 38 while playing a similar style of game and was about the same height and weight. Size and play style have very little to do with a players value. Their value is based on career accomplishments, longevity plays some role but not as much as one might think since there is no way to predict how long a current player will play. A 22 year old could play for 20+ years or he could go out next game and be sent head first into the boards and end his career. Gallagher has a higher risk given his age and play style but that doesn't factor in as much as fans would like to think.

He has not looked great in the playoffs , and as I watch it looks like he can't keep up anymore. We will have to see how he preforms in the 2nd half

Anyway if gally wants out of montreal he surely doesn’t want to go to Buffalo. He would want a contending team. Therefore he probably prefer montreal over buffalo

I mean most likely sabres will be contenders before montreal...

it's hard to tell Gallaghers worth bc he produces like almost a cap dump, but the Habs also seem to be hesitant in giving him up

He doesn't produce like a cap dump (outside of this season), he has 4 straight years of 30+ goals or on pace for it. Every one of the Habs this year is struggling, not one Hab has more than 7 goals in 34 games, his stats so far are a product of being on a bad team not his decline as everyone would have you believe
