-Patty had one hell of a one-timer early in the game that looked so pretty. A lot of people had him being really bad again this year, safe to say that’s not the case so far.

-A few people on Twitter were making a few jokes about Korpi backhanding Dawson Mercer with his blocker. Angry Korpi is Save.

-That Boone Jenner goal with 5 minutes left in the 3rd was a thing of beauty to watch. Two guys smothering him, #3 on the way, and he put it past the goalie with ease. That’s why he’s our Captain.

-Jake comes up clutch in the shootout! I always get really anxious with shootouts, and hearing Bob McElligott yell “AAAAND HE SCORES” on the radio broadcast made me yell out pretty loudly. Somehow my parents either didn’t hear me or didn’t care.

I got some strange feeling Arizona is gonna be the new Detroit of the draft which would be pretty funny.

My brother just reminded me that Columbus has Chicago’s 1st this year. Also, if my calculations are correct, if Chicago finishes last in the league Columbus would have a 9.5% chance of getting 1st overall.* (Since the team that finishes last can get 1st overall if 2 teams at picks 12 and below win the lottery)

*The conditions on the pick are that it moves to 2023 if Chicago wins a draft lottery. As it stands right now, if Chicago finishes 32nd in the NHL, Columbus has a greater than 75% chance of getting a top 4 pick this year.

Like Ottawa did in 2019 CBJ about to have 2 picks in the top 10 so Nemec and Kemell could end up as blue jacket picks which would speed up their rebuild tremendously.

Now the good news for Chicago is they can get a 1st at the deadline if they decide to trade some guys out (Kubalik, Strome, MAF, etc.)

At least Karlsson was good though, and the Sharks didn’t fall off a cliff after acquiring him. If Chicago keeps this abysmal play up, this might be the worst trade in NHL history. (Giving up a top 5 pick and a really good young D in exchange for a bad player who you sign to one of the biggest deals in NHL history for another 8 years)

Yeah thats the one advantage of that trade over the Jones trade which will probs go down in history as one of the worst nhl trades

My guess rn is Chicago will probs trade Kubalik to someone for a 1st and then get whatever they can for Strome, Guadette, De-Hann, MAF, and whatever rentals they got.

Unfortunately if they keep performing this poorly, most likely those players won’t be performing well and their trade value will be rather low. F in the chat for Chicago
