If I’m the Isles 7.5m is too risky when we’re a contender and could focus on better spending (or more reliable spending) - there will be TDL targets.

For the Devils I guess there’s no risk I guess just depends on the price

This suddenly gives the Hawks a tandem of Fleury-Kevin Lankinen, to go along with a returning Jonathan Toews, a newly acquired Tyler Johnson, and a grossly overpaid but still an upgrade on D in Seth Jones. Knee-jerk reaction is this a playoff team in my mind.

If Tarasenko's fully healthy, then he's better than Buchnevich (though obviously, that's a BIG if). Also, it could be that they were hoping to get Eichel when they traded Buchnevich, and now that that's not working out, they're eyeing Tarasenko as a replacement.

Thing is, Tarasenko's body probably can't go back to his previous form after that many shoulder injuries. Buchnevich has significantly improved his 2-way game, which Tarasenko stopped doing and now that his offense has dropped off, he's less impactful overall.
