IMO these posts are useless. They aren't screwed. Every team finds a way to become cap compliant. It's likely that they make a few trades, like Johnson to Seattle and Killorn somewhere else. There is always a way around the cap. Why not try and figure it out yourself instead of making a pointless post lol

A combination of saying goodbye to Palat, Killorn's contract expiring, and maybe Gourde being traded and there's no issues. Try not to be so dramatic.

I figured as much. Just we always see so many of these with tampa, when in reality they already know what to do. Likely saying bye to killorn, johnson and palat or gourde.

The rule was changed in the last CBA. It's now the lower of either 120% of the former AAV or 100% of final year's salary. That rule applies to all contracts signed after July 10, 2020.

This would mean that the QO of Cirelli and Sergachev is $5,760,000, and Cernak's is $3,540,000.

Points' QO remains at $9M as it was signed before July 10.

You are probably wrong on the qualifying offers also. If they signed after July 10 2020 the new CBA says you use the AAV as the amount , not the amount paid on the last year.

OK thanks for the update but regardless they will most likely ask for those contacts

Having to pay good players that you have is a good problem.

Worst case scenario they trade other good players but don't get their value.

If TB was able to be cap compliant this year without changing much of their lineup, I think the cap doesn't even apply to them anymore.

    They'll find a way.

    Send Tyler Johnson to Devils.
We could use him in 3c/3rw role that Zajac is in now. Next to Sharangovich.
Especially if Devils can add pick or prospect for taking him.

Just so you don't take too much comfort in everyone saying Tampa will figure things out cap wise, what are you giving Seattle so that they take Johnson. Francis should be able to get Joseph and a pick. If not they should just take Joseph.

How are they screwed? If nothing else they can't resign those RFAs that you named, but they can trade them for young assets, and use the now available cap space to sign players.
It's teams like San Jose who are near the cap due to long big contracts on declining veterans who are "screwed"
