I would grade the leafs with an A. Additions of Brodie, Simmonds, jumbo, bogosian, vesey, Boyd and dell. Fleeced pittsburgh for a 1st and a prospect had a great draft.

In general I think they did a great job with the flat cap.

I’d have the Flyers significantly lower. They’re still a very good team, but they basically did nothing this off-season. The only roster moves were Niskanen out and Gustafsson in, which I’d consider a downgrade, and their draft was only average at best.

Outside of Brodie (and maybe Thorton who you didn't mention) those are pretty low end additions. They may have fleeced Pittsburgh on the first but they still lost a relevant depth player for a scratch ticket, then they also lost a regular middle 6er in AJ

buffalo, ottawa, la, columbus, florida, rangers, philly one tier down each. tampa, edmonton, leafs up one tier each

an addition doesn't have to be high end for it to be good. all the so called lower end signing the leafs made are good contracts (ilya, vesey, dermott). if you're saying joey Anderson is a scratch ticket, he isn't cuz he just needs some more time before becoming a full time NHLer

Dubas during this offseason brought in Brodie who if paired with Rielly will be the best partner he has ever had, thorton who should be an excellent leader in the locker room for the young boyz, simmonds and bogosian who will make it where anyone goes after our stars yeah prepare to lose your head lul. For trades he got a 1st and a solid prospect for Kapenan, and moved Johnssons cap out for a player who has the potential to become a coleman like player and got him on a 3 year 750k deal. Signed Mikheyev to a solid team friendly deal and brought back spezza.

Than heres the juicy part he snagged the best defenseman outside of the NHL in Mikko Lehtonen who could be a steal for us especially if he adapts to the NHL quickly. Plus brought in barabanov who is a dmans worst nightmare and is going to be a monster at puck guarding. Romanov should he play is gonna have goosebumps of this guy as Barabanov often would often get the better of him so should be fun

He basically saw the mistakes of his previous year and corrected them, giving the boyz more leadership and guidance, tougher teammates, and giving your #1Dman a proper partner all got checked off. Plus freddies now got 2 solid backups in Campbell and Dell what more could u ask for.

I mainly gave them an A because they made Eichel happy by signing Hall.

I put Buffalo at an A since they kept Eichel and made him happy
Columbus I could see that but I liked the trade for Domi
Florida made some really underrated signings
Rangers got Laf but probably could move them down since they have a bunch of holes
Lightning I put a C since they only kept their core due to Kuch's injury so I had to put them there.

I don't disagree that they had a solid offseason but I wouldn't give them an 'A' personally. Probably a 'B'

Rangers did nothing this offseason.

Getting the 1st and turning it into amirov was great. The entire draft (which I consider to be part of a good off-season n) was great.

I think what made it such a good offseason was their cap management. Sure a lot of teams who came in with capspace could sign more UFA’s. I think the leafs did well to make room for what they added. Great rfa signings helped too.

Again I think they did a solid job. I don't disagree with that. I don't think their offseason was exceptional though. Hence why I gave them a B.

kinda sad that cuz they made eichel happy they got an A. I like the domi trade too but Murray for a fifth wasn't good and josh Anderson is still good and they have a lot more cap space and didn't do much with it. Florida did make underrated signings but they also lost dadonov and off, the hornqvist trade was good so B makes sense ig. rangers didn't do anything. they got laf but that was luck and they didn't really improve. i see your point for tampa

I would give Ottawa a B at best. Did they get better? Probably, but it’s hard to get worse. I didn’t like most of their signings/trades other than dadonov. Couple over pays in trades and free agency. I don’t think they used their cap space in the best way they could have.

Johnsson was a loss sure but an easily replaceable one. Kapanen is a gain though, he wasn't a good player. Says the right stuff and people love him because he threw a couple hits and lost two fights (his willingness to fight endeared him to fans everywhere despite being terrible at it). His play without the puck is terrible, his defensive play was even worse and it seems almost everyone only can see his speed and think he's a future 30 goal scorer and 70+ point player. He isn't he can find some spurts of offence throughout the season but costs the team time and time again on blown assignments. For some reason he does the same mistakes constantly and everyone somehow blamed Nylander for them. Kapanen is a bottom 6 speedster, nothing more. Hallander could very easily become a much better player. Or at least his equal. The Russian kid is going to be much better.

I bet I could go back to posts from 6 months ago that have you saying how amazing of a player Kapanen is. This is ridiculous
