Jones starts with Marner or Matthews tbh. Guy is an absolute stud and most likely Columbus’ next captain. Not to mention he’s on a great contract for the next 2 years.

Matthews is a stretch. Matthews worth a good much more, but starts with Marner or Tavares, sure.

So my thoughts behind the trade, Columbus is probably going to need to shed the dubinsky contract real bad. Only a couple of teams in the league that will do that. Also, the two prospects are high grade prospects. They also need room to sign a few more key rfa's soon. That's why they move Stal this morning. So two birds with one stone for them

...what? Columbus didn't trade Staal, Minnesota did. And the Dubinsky contract is completely insured, meaning no cash payment is necessary, and they can spend to the cap easily by buying out Wennberg to extend PLD and Gavrikov.
