Gotta agree with @bhavikp27 on this. Doughty is far too high, and Hamilton is fine where he is, though I'd argue he should be higher.

LA is a disaster. He is definitely playing down, but calling him a disaster is ridiculous.

the nhl doesn’t care about actual defense anymore. they only care about the amount of points the defenseman put up. that’s why the norris is bullsh*t now. it’s an offensive defenseman game now.

I would agree. Norris has been a joke for a while now.

Heiskanen should be on this list (IMO). He doesn't put up the points of a Makar or Hughes, but he's really good at everything. The kid is severely underrated and is barely old enough to drink. I guess it depends on how much you weigh the past vs the future though.

the nhl is so scared to stray away from their classic defenseman that’s why heiskanen isn’t on this list. if your last name is karlsson or doughty then expect to be on this list every single year because the nhl still thinks they’re in their glory days. also if you don’t put up huge numbers as a defenseman then the nhl shuts you out. they only care about offensive ability. i cant wait for the day when dahlin, heiskanen, byram, drysdale, fox, etc replace these worn down veterans.

I really like him, and value him top 10.
