Ryan Strome is a good 2way center, BUT... thanks to Panarin that guy is gonna demand a payday and make more than he possibly should. In general he will be much to expensive to resign therefore his acquisition is pointless.

Trouba's contract would be a little bit hard to handle. I'd prefer to keep Strome and Murphy for less than Trouba's cap hit and get better results

I don't think the hawks are interested in Trouba with Mitchell and Boqvist on the right side. There's no reason Seabrook won't remain the highest cap hit on defense for the hawks. The two 3rd rounders don't make up for it at all.

I mean...if Trouba continues to play like last year then the Hawks lose by a landslide. Murphy was arguably better than Trouba straight up last year and he's on a MUCH better contract.

Sure, if we just pretend that Murphy doesn't have 4 less years on his deal lol. and isn't a massive offensive upgrade. We can also pretend like Dylan Strome would approach anywhere in the ballpark of his current production without Debrincat or Kane dragging him along.

the issues with the Rangers defensive system is well documented and clearly shown (don't need to look harder than Shattenkirk/Pionk's "improvement" upon leaving there). Also Trouba would get significant PP time in Chicago which would massively increase his point totals. Seems like a no-brainer.
