He is now back with the Marlies and do not understand why the Leafs have not given this guy a chance to play atleast one game in the NHL. We are talking about a big game performer in the World Juniors and Memorial Cup and last year was the second leading scorer in the entire AHL and yet the Leafs can not give him a chance.

He is back with Marlies and after month of not playing hockey. He has to get up to tempo and play. Why they did not give him a chance? Its easy.. because he is bad at everything else that is not scoring. He is a good point gatherer in AHL. But his defensive game is bad, his overall game is not that good either and he is not a good skater except for his lateral circling around zone thing. You think he should get a shot just because of points?

Yes, please give him a chance. Maybe then Leaf fans will stop including him in every trade when they realize he's waiver fodder for next season.

OHL and AHL point totals is not predictive of NHL success. Maybe stop hanging your hat on how players perform against teenagers and career minor leaguers?

Gotta think it's just fantasy that the Leafs haven't given Bracco " a chance". Players have to proof themselves of NHL capable before placed on an NHL roster.
Leafs never gave me a chance either, and I do play RHD.....but I never read any my CapFriendly friends tooting my horn for a spot on the Leaf blue line. (Yea maybe the Bracco PalHal comparison isn't quite the same)

Waiver fodder is traded all the time, Bracco has very little to no value at the NHL level, he does have value as minor league acquisition for several teams with shallow prospect pools and very bad minor league teams, he gets a 4th/5th rnd pick or another waiver fodder player in return

Teams with shallow prospect pools aren't likely to give up a mid pick for "waiver fodder"... Maybe a 6th or 7th until he plays done NHL games, but even then those types of players usually get moved for conditional 6ths or 7ths based off NHL GP

This is probably one of the most craziest comment I have read on CapFriendly. How can you possibly say that scoring points in the OHL and AHL and putting in dominating performances in Memorial Cup and World Juniors are not indicators of potential NHL success. Do you realize that if Bracco was the second leading scorer in the entire AHL last year that it was done against other NHL teams best prospects and not teenagers.

What do the Leafs have to lose to play Bracco one game in the NHL and see what he can do?

How can you call being in a conference with Boston and Tampa a joke. Last time I checked Boston was in the Stanley Cup finals last year and has one of the better records in the entire NHL.

Goldobin is a top AHL player. Last year Bracco had 79 points why isn’t he scoring 50 points in the NHL already?!? Vrana career high was like 36 points he’s going to get 65-70 points in the NHL. Sgarbossa was a top 10 scorer last year. It’s the craziest thing he hasn’t been good enough to make the jump to the NHL. Every instance in situational but I’m assuming his 17% sh% played a major factor in his last years success considering his SH% came back to earth this year and he’s not score at a ppg average.

Bc having 2 great teams in a division doesn’t make is not a joke. Atlantic has 2 great teams a good team and 5 awful teams. You’re actually is proving my point. Name another team in the division that’s good besides the 2 you just named? If the NHL took the top 8 teams regardless of division TML would be struggling to make the Playoffs but bc they are in a division with a bunch of clowns the auto make the playoffs. They would be the 5th best team in the metro and even at that there’s 3 teams just barely behind them with games in hand. It’s a joke you’d have to be an idiot not to understand that

Easy to have a great record when you play 5 teams that are terrible 4-5x a year lmfao

Goldobin at least was given a chance to play in the NHL with the Canucks and actually performed well in a number of games but his consistently was a problem as was sen back to the AHL because the Canucks owners want the team to make the playoffs at all costs this year.

You would assume that an elite AHL would player make them a better NHL team based off your logic right?

Unfortunately the two are directly related. AHL and Nhl are two different leagues and it’s all about the similarities in the AHL and NHL systems. IMO that’s why PITTSBURGH is always so good. Their farm team is always on the same page and the players ca. Easily get plugged in

He'd need to pass though waivers before he has any value. Too many trades on here have him as a valuable addition in trades, not a 5th rounder.

Most I've seen is he's a throw in to boost a kerfoot/Kap or Johnsson into a top 4 RHD

Bracco will be claimed instantly if put on waivers. Dubas is out to lunch with this player and probably views Bracco as a Hunter player and instead brings in Malgin who has done nothing.

All good logic but am confused on how Malgin is on the Leafs roster as I just can not see how he is NHL capable. Wondering if Bracco is just being viewed as a Hunter guy that Dubas wants to just move on without giving him a chance. Find it also weird that Korshkov who was another Hunter pick plays one game and scores 1 goal and then demoted back to the Marlies. Leafs 3rd and 4th line is killing the Leafs and needs to be upgraded for next year.
