Dmen are worth more than offensive players to begin with. Mayfields contract is 1.45m for 4 years. Kapanen is making triple that for 2 years. How much of kaps production last year was him and how much were the guys arojnd him elevating him. Hes looked horrible so far this year.

No. Im dead serious. The ranking for cost is G > D > F. In your agm above you are slotting mayfield at 4thd. Kapanen is your 9th forward right now. So yeah you gotta add significantly. Its not a 1 for 1.

You want a young, cost controlled top 4 dman... for a 3rd line forward. Not calling him a middle 6 because hes only really excelled with matthews. Look at the stats with and without matthews. Once nylander came back last year kap went from almost a point per game to under half a point per game. Not a coincidence. Hes overrated.

There is no pre determined ranking of value by position. That only exists on this site in the minds of people who are later baffled when a trade goes through.
