Though< I would love that trade. But I think Kase has high value in terms of what he does when he is in the lineup. Guy has 30 goal scorer written all over him. he had 20 in 66 games the previous year and 11 in 30 games. Injuries have killed the guy though.

His numbers are really good when he plays and the advanced stats say he’s due to breakout but I don’t think it’s as high as people on he make it out to be. I hope he isn’t moved tho. A 7th rounder that’s turning into a stud when healthy. Plus he’s signed to a good number. I really hope he’s not moved and they use Jones/Ritchie/Henrique and picks to get Faulk.

Kase might be the most underrated player in the entire league right now. No one knows what a return might look like because we don't know which GM's realise what he is, but any return will certainly be more than that.

People that don't appreciate Kase need to go to hockeyviz.com and check out the shot maps with and without him. And then take in the fact that despite poor deployment, his primary points per 60 rate is 4th in the NHL over the last 2 years at 5v5 (min 1,000 TOI), behind *clears throat* Matthews, Kucherov, and McDavid. 42 of his 45 points at 5v5 are either goals are primary assists. Absurd.

If you thought the Rask-for-Nino trade was a fleece... lord i hope ANA knows what they're doing here.

Kase is a top 5 RW in the league, if you trade him, chances are the Ducks will lose it

Kase's value is hard to place due to his incomplete season last year; he's kind of like William Nylander in that regard -- both players are going to be seen as much more valuable after they play a full year this season (because I'm expecting both of them to rebound significantly). For that reason, I wouldn't trade him for almost anyone who is likely to be available, and certainly not for one year of Justin Faulk.

I think it ultimately comes down to how much you value all the analytics. I personally only do about 50/50 in that regard. It feels a little too forced from the analytic community that this is essentially one of the best players in the league at his position. Is he good? Damn straight. Does he have a nice contract? Yes sir. Are there more than 5 Rw's i'd take over him anyday? **** to the hell yeah. (only taking ability into consideration)

What I think needs to be taken into consideration in determining his value, regardless of his analytics or eye test for that matter, is that he is proving to be injury prone. Its not nothing. At this pace, Kase could very well be one of the better RW's out there but if he doesn't put it all together and stay healthy for a good 75 games minimum, he'll be one of those great players to never actually score more than 50 points in a season. A good example of a player like that is Jordan Staal. Seemingly started his career as a sure fire top prospect to put up big points but has never cracked over 50 points in a season......... Solid player but let's face not exactly a player you'd hope to get when drafting 2nd overall.

Being able to stay healthy is as much an important of a factor as Pts/60 for Kase right now. Until he plays a full season and puts up that 30+ goals, I think this guy is getting way more credit than he rightfully deserves.

He's not a star player but hes not someone I would be interested in trading away given his potential. I dont think it's too analytical to say he creates a lot of goals in the time that he plays at 5v5.

I didn't say it was too analytical did I? I think the perception of him being "really good" comes more from the analytics community only, that's all. If you value the analytics the way I do, 50/50 analytics/eye test for example, he's a pretty good player but nothing elite as some make him out to be. Plus I feel like when determining value, people overlook injuries when it comes to their darlings. The truth is this guy has not been able to stay healthy in the NHL yet and that diminishes his value. Not saying the guy is worthless, don't want to confuse anyone. Just saying the idea that Faulk is the biggest POS on the planet and Kase is an untouchable is a bit much.
