Yeah that would be even better. But I dont really care, we hated turnover Subban, and Subban is way better than Gardiner

Weak center depth, questionable defense on the left...a lot will have to go their way to make the playoffs.

Gardiner is good but chariot will brings more defense reliability. We already have mete and kulak that could moves the puck well on left side, chariot will kill penalties, play shutdown minutes. I mean you should know that this defenseman are important since the blue have bouwmester and edmunston that played that role last season.

Last time i check montreal center line wasn’t that bad. Chicago wasn’t a force at center position when they win their cup. Beside jonathan toews its wasn’t a elite group. And there no big name on that left side but still mete and kulak skate very very well and
Move the puck well doesnt make a lot of turnovers and chariot is a upgrade on benn. But i still think they will miss the playoff just like last year. Toronto, boston, tampa is too strong and last year injury hasn’t been a issues for montreal this year might be different. But if everyone stat healty there chance a legit like everyteam . Except ottawa and detroit

I think "unproven" is a better word to describe MTLs center depth....definitely not weak. But yeah...LD doesn't look great at all. But if Julien isn't a stickler for guys playing on their offsides, Brook has played LD as a righty, did it in Moose Jaw, and at the WJC.

Imagine how good they'd be if they could get a proven top-pair LHD like Karl Alzner, instead of waiving him the first time he makes a mistake, like a bunch of idiots.

Voted NO because NJD, PHi, FLO and CAR improved too much while Habs lost Shaw and added Chariot.

BUT, Bergy can still use his magic to improve the team before the season starts.

I'm looking at all the teams that will bust the cap with their elite RFA signings (WIN, CAL, TB, BOS, etc.) and will need to unload some caphit by trading descent players for a smaller contract (Weal, Cousins, Frolin, Thompson) or draft picks (Habs have 12 next year).

Wont be a game changer but I still believe that line up will improve!

I do think they will make the playoffs but not exactly with this lineup. Not sure Poehling and Juulsen will start the year in Mtl but quite sure they will be promoted this year. Max Domi will start at center and a guy like Hudon will have a last try in Mtl. I see Mtl getting deepnest on the right side with a UFA like Pominville. Weal will have a tryout on the first line. IMO.
But as we all know, the real question remains in the net. Will Price play a MVP season or not ? Like they in the song.. 'Nothing else matters'.

Now since you play the most games against teams in your division and as you said every team in the Metro can make the playoffs. That means Montreal should have an easier time getting points. Montreal finished 3rd in the wild card race last season with 96 points 2 behind CBJ and 3 behind CAR. So I think they have a decent shot at a wild card birth.
