Description

I like the flexibility of these forward adds. You could flip Monahan and Pettersson, or you could leave the Lotto line intact and have Suter play the left side with Lindholm and Mikheyev, dropping Monahan to the 4th line, where he could either centre Hoglander and Lafferty, or play wing with Lafferty at centre.

monahan is worth more than a 22 y/o fringe NHLer, not saying you're miles off but at least a 4th has to be added, I think a 3rd would be the most realistic

That is too much to give up for Lindholm. Lekkerimaki and Willander are only potentially available if it's for a young cost controlled difference maker.

Thats a fairly major underpayment for monahan.

Podkolzin is in his D+5 season and still is in the ahl. Hes worth a late 2nd at best.

I will never understand why Monahan is so underappreciated on this site, The guy is literally top 50 amongst all centermen in the league in scoring and is an amazing locker room presence with high skill and compete but cause of a terrible injury history (even though that seems to be behind him or could be mitigated by putting conditions on a pick), he is seen as having no value. Playoff teams would love to add a guy who is on pace to put up 45-50 points on a cheap deal while being deployed mostly with Anderson and Gallagher.
