Yes, no official comment on Kravtsov or Zibanejad but at least both players finished the game.

Changes in the Top 6
I'm good with your top two lines. Laffy fits with KZ's tools and Kakko can be a strong net-front presence on 2L. Blais is having a hard time shaking off the rust with his O after returning from injury and he just needs some time to get it right. Vesey is better on the 4L and Blais should get time there as well until he steps up his game. I would like to see game-day callups on Rydahl and Trivigno to see how they fit in on 3L. Trivigno was signed for O upside, so let's see what we have and if he can fill the void left by Chytil injury.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Jimbo1119</b></div><div>If they call anyone up they lose the cap accrual they were trying to achieve when Hunt was cut. If Chytl goes on LTIR, different story. The reason their options are so few is poor Cap management- not only the 5M + committed to Reaves and Goodrow….don’t forget the 880K they are paying ADA this year.</div></div>
Yes, but since Trivigno is waiver-exempt it could be limited to reducing 1 day's worth of accrual. LTIR can get complicated with setting an Accruable Cap Space Limit (ACSL), and we could end up not accruing any cap space with it in place. Besides, a temporary reduction in cap accrual shouldn't take precedence over figuring out what we have, maybe someone else gets sent down.

For now, Goodrow is really the only option for a temp basis…if it goes beyond that they will have to try to make a move. Not sure what their options are- being cap strapped yet having over 5M tied up in Goodrow and Reaves.</div></div>
What about a Trivigno callup? O drop-off is the most talked about concern and he was signed for this type of situation. He has no waiver consequences; bring him in and see if he responds.

Or what if Shest gets hurt (obviously nothing to do with Kane...but one weakness he has shown is tendency to get injured)
In either case here (and several more can be added)- they would no longer be a Cup favorite.
Point is: too much can go wrong in a single Cup run- so it's foolish to aim at one Cup run.</div></div>
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Rhehdbdbd</b></div><div>Thats a stupid point ngl. Every player on the team has an equal chance of getting injured. Kane hasn't even been injury prone in his career.</div></div>
It was previously said all that needed to be said. The Rangers are not just building for a single cup run, but are creating a contention window and that includes not taking lightly restocking young talent with the draft. There are pros and cons, Kane would be a big help but guarantees nothing.

The biggest issue I see with Chytil is that a replacement on the open market will be a similar cost and we have no real internal option to reduce costs, so signing him to some term is the best option if he is open to it.
Do you have an idea about a Lindgren trade proposal?

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>exo2769</b></div><div>Fair point of the UBI. Disagree about equal to Tippett. The irony is that before the highway Robbery (kudos to Drury) it was Lundqvist and the NYR 1st for Kaner with Hawks fans saying pass and now it's almost repulsive to suggest two 1sts.
Point remains on Kravstov though. He needs to play....and be good</div></div>
As was mentioned in another post, it is not clear one way or the other who is preferred by a particular team. I also read Tippett is on the outs with Torts, although that happens with Torts. Kravtsov skillset fits well with what the Rangers need, and I would not trade him straight-up for Tippett. They are not looking to move him to just do it. His name comes up a lot because he is still at a prospect level and about the only top 6 caliber player that they would move on the roster. If he does play good like you said, it could get harder to move him as well as he is cost-controlled. Still waiting for Tippett to play to his potential.

Tippett and Kravtsov are very similar, both NHL-ready prospects. By the TDL, Kravstov's experience should be close. He has been out with a UBI, not a healthy scratch.

The same thinking on Lindgren value vs cost in moving Goodrow. Goodrow was also brought in to give leadership to the bottom 6 and Drury is not ready to give that up.
Miller and Fox have been experimented with whenever they get a chance including pre-season for this scenario and have shown well so far.
It is still a cap-crunched situation league-wide and I am not sure how team-friendly those deals are if they want term as both don't have arbitration rights.

Rangers Deadline Cup Run
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>dannibalcorpse</b></div><div>I mean, the Flyers still got a 1st, 3rd, and a young roster player for Giroux retained down to $4.1M, and Giroux was producing at a much lower level than where Kane was last year. I don't think Kane gets a king's ransom because of his NMC, but I do think if you retain him down to $2.625M like OP has done here, he's going to get a significantly stronger return than Giroux. If you can fit him on your team for $5.25M(ie, Chicago is the only team eating cap), then I think you can start talking about a 1st/3rd/prospect-type return.</div></div>
With a 22-man roster, the Rangers were projected to have around 4.5m in TDL cap space. Since early season injuries, a 23-man roster has been used which would be about 1m in TDL cap space, so depending how things work out, between 1m and 4.5m give or take, but expecting closer to 4m.

I like your concept. The 2023 2nd you're offering is equivalent to a late 1st in most draft years and should buy more than Dadonov. If Toews plays like the 3c we saw a lot of last year then he would be the high end of what the Rangers need, but if he plays better than that, he would be too expensive, same with Van Riemsdyk. Maybe Tyler Motte or Kerfoot, what do you think of Bonino as the low end?

I would agree if this was next year. This year and next have cap implications and Drury is not going to sacrifice their foundation and cheap depth. Asks for Miller, Kakko, Schneider, and Othmann are very unlikely to happen. The 2023 draft is loaded and the top 3 rounds are all moved up a round compared to other draft years. A need is to add high-ceiling centers to our prospect pool and the first round is packed with them. The NYR have a chance to add two of them equivalent to a top 10 and mid-round pick, something they probably will have no chance at in the near future. The trade price for these types of prospects is exorbitant and attempts were unsuccessfully made this off-season. The roster is very strong as is, so there is no need to stretch current and future depth and complicate the cap even for a player like Kane. The more likely TDL move will be for a bottom-six playoff-experienced depth option.

I doubt the NYR is going to get into a bidding war for Kane. The only way he comes to them is if Kane says NYR or bust and then you will get a Giroux-type of trade like here. The Dallas pick is the equivalent of a top 10 pick in a different year and is already set for other org needs, more likely it would be a 2024 1st.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>tea</b></div><div>Rydahl is probably the guy I'd like to see in the lineup the most out of the current 13th/14th forward contenders, but he got sent down, which was expected given he's waiver exempt. I agree that claiming another depth forward would be nice, given the amount of young/unproven players we're relying on.
The kids should definitely get more time, but I agree that I like the CK combo. They've already shown some good chemistry, especially in last years playoffs when on multiple occasions Kakko dished very nice passes to Chytil (some linked below), which is great to see. That combo complimented with someone like Blais or even Vesey could form a veery competent 3rd line, which in this case should get at least 15 mins of TOI per game.
In my opinion tho, the largest problem that needs addressing is the fact that our 7th defenseman is currently Libor Hajek, and after that I guess the next option is either Jarred Tinordi or Matthew Robertson, one of whom sucks and one of whom is far from NHL ready.</div></div>
It would be great if Vesey works out, reproduce numbers from 2016-2019, and continue his PK skills would be nice.
Juuso Välimäki is on the waiver wire. Prefer him as 7th D for $1,550,000?
Kaut for $863,333 is also on waivers.

Trying to find a higher skill level than typically found on the 4th line, so can cause disruption to D. It is similar to Gaut and if he committed to a 4th line role he could be valuable. Kostin appears to have the physical skills and maybe could slide into the 4th line. Ultimately they have issues and it will take someone who is motivated, so maybe getting dropped by a team could propel him to accept the role. I am not sold on this, it is a what-if.
