Reese johnson's trade is kinda pointless, he's a young forward and has term that the hawks need to get over the cap floor next year even tho it's not much.
Toews to Buffalo doesn't really make sense as they have so much depth right now and a log jam at forward. I can see Edmonton or Avalanche going for him.
Murphy has positive value and would get us at least a 2nd back + a prospect.
Hawks also shouldn't settle for a trade on Kane, Kravtsov and the other prospect are scraps that we shouldn't settle for since a lot of teams will be pushing for Kane. I like the Dallas pick tho.

Vancouver has absolutely 0 interest in that trade. He’d be our 11th best forward at best. We would be interested in that Murphy trade though

If the Sabres are in a WC spot, they probably dont need Toews. and if hes having a good year, he may cost more. Sabres dont need retention. Murphy would be fine at that price

I think the Sabres would be interested in Murphy-
at that price though
I’ve seen many Hawks fans thinking they’ll get a 1st for him,
which seems like extremely wishful thinking to me

Toews (as a rental obviously) doesn’t seem like he’d be of interest to us- even at that fairly cheap cost

I doubt the NYR is going to get into a bidding war for Kane. The only way he comes to them is if Kane says NYR or bust and then you will get a Giroux-type of trade like here. The Dallas pick is the equivalent of a top 10 pick in a different year and is already set for other org needs, more likely it would be a 2024 1st.

Nothing wrong with that COL trade except I don’t think COL would want that second year of his contract.

With how NYR top 2 lines look I don’t think they will be looking for a top 6 guy and certainly not a star like Kane. I know that’s been a common thought of reuniting Kane and bread or that kane apparently wants to go to 1 of 3-5 teams and NYR is one of them. But I think this isn’t going to end kane in NYR. I see him landing with NYI or NJ before NYR

The rangers don't need that pick. They're in win-now mode and need to make a big trade deadline move. They have to get aggressive with their assets.

I would agree if this was next year. This year and next have cap implications and Drury is not going to sacrifice their foundation and cheap depth. Asks for Miller, Kakko, Schneider, and Othmann are very unlikely to happen. The 2023 draft is loaded and the top 3 rounds are all moved up a round compared to other draft years. A need is to add high-ceiling centers to our prospect pool and the first round is packed with them. The NYR have a chance to add two of them equivalent to a top 10 and mid-round pick, something they probably will have no chance at in the near future. The trade price for these types of prospects is exorbitant and attempts were unsuccessfully made this off-season. The roster is very strong as is, so there is no need to stretch current and future depth and complicate the cap even for a player like Kane. The more likely TDL move will be for a bottom-six playoff-experienced depth option.

Only a one year deal isn't it? 950k x 1. I'd say the Avs would probably do it, especially if they have any injuries at the TDL.

I agree that they are cap-crunched and just like all the other contenders they will need to rely on ELC from young players to be competitive, but that doesn't mean they shouldn't go for Kane. If they have the offer to get Kane then they should for sure do it. It would make them the best team in the league and for sure make them the front-runner for the cup. Obviously Drury has the future in mind, but the top priority is winning the cup now while Panarian, Kreider, Zib are in their primes and Kane gives them a significantly bigger chance at doing so.
