Post Winter Classic disaster
Do people put any thought into these?
Seriously. I'm so tired of reading arm-chair after arm-chair of teams bending over their counterpart in trade to better their favorite team. It's not realistic, it's not happening. How is that fun for anyone? These aren't even up for discussion. Most are so easy to shit on, and then you never get a response. I want explanations as to why:
1.) CBJ trades its top center (no matter how Torts is handling him, he is a legit Top 6 center) and a solid top 4 defenseman who can play big minutes, for a, albeit, very solid UFA winger who will be looking for at least 5.5-6 million in a new contract, a very shaky prospect in Koko, who doesn't hold much value at the moment, but has shown he can score in the AHL, a terrible #8 defenseman in Irwin, a 1st round draft pick a mid-to-late 2nd and a 4th; and one they only get if Eriksson doesn't resign? I can't even right now....
2.) Why WPG would trade Big Buff for a declining #4 defenseman and a couple 2nds? Winnipeg is going to want to sell Big Buff for picks and prospects. Not a declining 30+ year old defenseman with injury history.
Please sir, explain yourself.
EDIT: I just noticed you signed Mike Richards. Why? What is the purpose of this?

Brad Marchand -- LW -- BOS
Say what you want about him, hate him all you want, but this guy can has skill and is a solid all around player. Bergeron's wingman (so if you're going Bergeron on the 4th, Marchand should be right next to him on the Left). Check his numbers, 20+ goal scorer, 45-50 point player. Is a serious asset on the PK and has a good cap hit of 4.5 million.

Can someone explain to me how and why John Scott is a captain
I love it. NHL all-star game is a joke anyway. This was an awesome thing for the NHL fan community to come together and get this goofball in. He may be a complete waste on the ice, but he's a solid guy off it, and seems like he's going to have fun. Get rid of the All-star game, or play it after the season. PLayers don't like it, only fans who like it are just dumb. It's boring and the only part about it worth anything is the skills competition.
You getting mad makes it even more hilarious!!!

Bruins better get more than Cowen (who has been brutal for OTT) and Puempel; a guy who hasn't done much at the AHL level (nevermind the NHL level). I want more coming back.
The TOR deal makes no sense (absolutely NO SENSE) for both teams.
Mark Stone, btw, will cost more than that package. He's 25, putting up a decent PPG clip at 0.43, and playing big minutes (around 22 a night). Why would they give him up for a declining seidenberg and a struggling prospect in Koko who doesn't have a lot of value right now? That's right....They don't
Poor mock here.

Giving up all that for the garbo that is Dan Girardi. He's not what he was once was. Stop overpaying for everyone!
Too much for Schultz who is nothing more than a bottom 5/6 defenseman; something we have a shit ton of to begin with. Overpayment again.
Anaheim isn't giving up that much for connolly.

Yandle to Boston
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>palhal</b></div><div><i>Agree with "Future", 6.7m is a lot of Yandle with the new NHL economics.(slowly rising cap) And Eriksson, don't know of anyone that would offer nearly that much. "Future", one reason Connolly gets an extension is that the Bruins traded two seconds to get him, and now have to justify that deal.</i></div></div>
I look at it as, Chiarelli gave up two 2nds for Connolly. Since PC is gone (thank the lord), Sweeney has no real connection to the player. I don't mind Connolly as a player, and think he's been alright, but the Bruins have Hayes, and both have been inconsistent this year. I just don't think it's wise to have all these inconsistent scoring wingers. Connolly, Hayes, Vatrano (who i like), and even marchand can go on cold-spells. I feel that 2 million is served better elsewhere. Plus, unless Connolly flicks a switch and goes on an absolute tear, I don't see him putting up numbers that will get him a double in salary.

Yandle to Boston
Yeah, that 6.7 million could definitely be better spent on a different player. Yandle gets hyped up so much around here because he's from Boston. He's not what I'm looking for in a defenseman. He's putrid in his own zone.
Also Connolly hasn't done anything to have his salary doubled. his money could be better suited elsewhere as well.

Blockbuster pt 2
Wow, this may be one of the few Arm-chair GMs that I've actually liked on here.
On the Nashville deal: I absolutely love it for the Bruins. They finally get that stud young defenseman to replace Chara when he retires, and while ZC is still here, they solidify their top 4 with a solid two-way defenseman. Love his upside, age, shot handedness, everything. THAT SAID, I can't see Nashville accepting this deal. Maybe they do b/c they're getting some good pieces to build with (I assume Eriksson is resigned long term as he's a UFA at season's end) but Nashville's biggest issue is the lacking of a #1 C. If you're trying to deal for Seth Jones, I think it starts with David Krejci as the main piece going to Nashville.
On the Colorado Deal: I like it a lot as you're definitely upgrading our RW spot. Connolly's been meh since he's got here. He does put in an effort, and shows glimpses of that skill that got him drafted 6th overall, but he's woefully inconsistent and I'd jump all over this deal. I'd definitely want Iggy retained though. 25%-35%. 5.3 million is a hefty price to take on, and he's getting up there in age.
Nice job though, I like it!

Listen I know pasta is a great, young and talented player but I feel like he'll eventually just be another Kessel, Seguin, Hamilton situation for the Bruins...trade him now so they have a chance to win the cup...what is the realistic return for pasta</i></div></div>
You can't keep trading these young big potential players. He's a lot different from all 3 of those as well. He loves the game, he loves Boston, and he shows a willingness to get better in all areas of the game. The main point is what I said before. You don't trade him b/c you think that. What a brutal reason to move a guy. Absolutely BRUTAL. Pastrnak is going nowhere, and is as close to untouchable as they should be. Right up there with Bergeron and Rask. You move forward with him. Every time I read you response, I get angry. Your posts make me angry lmao. They're so full of ignorance it's on hilariously embarrassing proportions. Question your Bruins fan hood, you need to reassess whether this team is for you. I don't think they are.
For one, you don't trade him for Keith Yandle. Are you serious?!?!?! Keith Yandle?!?!?! A guy they could 1.) Just sign in the offseason for nothing but $$$ and 2.) This guy is not what we need. Overrated to a "T" and wouldn't be an overused consideration for the Bruins to sign if he wasn't from Massachusetts.

Exactly, but I'm thinking Pastrnak, Morrow and a 1st for Fowler, and Koko and Subban for Stewart. Oh my god, dude. No, No, No. This deal is terrible. Pastrnak is untouchable unless you're getting a haul (i mean a haul) back for him. Chris Stewart is a bum, and if the Bruins wanted him, they could have signed him for peanuts in the offseason. He isn't mentoring anyone, and would provide what Connolly, Hayes do; inconsistent. Fowler is nice, but not a player I'd give this package up for, which is what you're giving all that up for, since Stewart sucks. Try again....

Wouldn't touch RJ. Guy has some issues and would definitely not give up David Pastrnak in a deal for him. He's CBJ's problem right now. Plus, they'll want a stud D coming back for him.
Pitts deal makes no sense. Lovejoy is nothing more than a 5. Why not just play morrow there? He has upside at least. Adding Arnesson is overkill, as he's someone who could be a decent depth defenseman in a few years.
