TBL get a better deal than this. No one wants your garbage. Greening blows chunks and has a terrible contract.

I agree about Greening, he can't even make the Sens roster. Although right now Lazar has shown to be a better player than Drouin so Tampa can take the contract to offset the trade. Tampa has cap room especially since they do not seem to be willing/able in re-signing Stamkos and will probably need some NHL bodies up front.
...plus maybe Yzerman will be nice since they fleeced the Sens on the Bishop-Conacher deal... maybe...

Sorry but no. I understand why people like Lazar and he'll be a decent NHL player but he's not even close to the player Drouin is. I see little evidence to suggest he'll be more than a good 2nd-3rd line player in the league.

I agree that Drouin has a higher ceiling but he needs to play in the top 6 and is not as effective elsewhere in the lineup. Lazar has been playing a regular NHL shift since he entered the league and can be slotted from the 2nd to the 4th line. Drouin has been scratched, sent to AHL and demanded a trade. Correct me if I'm wrong but the only comparable I can think of a RFA asking for a trade who was also a high pick is 3rd overall pick Kyle Turris who was traded to the Sens for David Rundblad and 2nd round pick.

While this offer is not ridiculous by any means as Lazar would give Cooper a lot more options and help with depth, I find it very hard to believe that there isnt some team out there that would be willing to put together a bigger and better package for Drouin and his potential. Plus I think it would take a bigger over payment to get Yzerman to give away Drouin at this point in his career
