As an Avs fan, I would be ok with that return for Iggy

Wow, this may be one of the few Arm-chair GMs that I've actually liked on here.

On the Nashville deal: I absolutely love it for the Bruins. They finally get that stud young defenseman to replace Chara when he retires, and while ZC is still here, they solidify their top 4 with a solid two-way defenseman. Love his upside, age, shot handedness, everything. THAT SAID, I can't see Nashville accepting this deal. Maybe they do b/c they're getting some good pieces to build with (I assume Eriksson is resigned long term as he's a UFA at season's end) but Nashville's biggest issue is the lacking of a #1 C. If you're trying to deal for Seth Jones, I think it starts with David Krejci as the main piece going to Nashville.

On the Colorado Deal: I like it a lot as you're definitely upgrading our RW spot. Connolly's been meh since he's got here. He does put in an effort, and shows glimpses of that skill that got him drafted 6th overall, but he's woefully inconsistent and I'd jump all over this deal. I'd definitely want Iggy retained though. 25%-35%. 5.3 million is a hefty price to take on, and he's getting up there in age.

Nice job though, I like it!

    Spot on analysis!

I'd add that Iggy has been quoted as not wanting to waive his NTC so it may be hard to get him to move again. Also I think there a couple teams who would put in a better offer if he Iggy were willing to go. (MTL being one of those teams. We need an Iggy type RW really bad)

Yeah the Nashville trade aint happening and funny enough its not because your trade lacks good value. It's because of the general GM motto " It's not quantity, it's quality ". Rather than get a bunch of decent players, they'd want one very good player. I can't remember who first mentioned it on this site but the best trade scenario involving Seth Jones is and ultimately remains Ryan Johansen. That is practically equal value going both ways with both teams getting exactly what they need. It's very hard to find a trade that actually works as well as that one does. Especially when young stud players are involved.
