Yeah, that 6.7 million could definitely be better spent on a different player. Yandle gets hyped up so much around here because he's from Boston. He's not what I'm looking for in a defenseman. He's putrid in his own zone.

Also Connolly hasn't done anything to have his salary doubled. his money could be better suited elsewhere as well.

Agree with "Future", 6.7m is a lot of Yandle with the new NHL economics.(slowly rising cap) And Eriksson, don't know of anyone that would offer nearly that much. "Future", one reason Connolly gets an extension is that the Bruins traded two seconds to get him, and now have to justify that deal.

Where the hell is Collin Miller?
    Eriksson gets 5 max
    Yandle gets 6 max
Why trade Morrow for a third? If you're gonna trade Morrow package him with Subban and another prospect for someone who can start now, or another premier prospect (3 for 1 special)
Torey doesn't get more than 5 either
The Bruins wouldn't have enough to sign Marchand, Spooner and Pastrnak the year later

I look at it as, Chiarelli gave up two 2nds for Connolly. Since PC is gone (thank the lord), Sweeney has no real connection to the player. I don't mind Connolly as a player, and think he's been alright, but the Bruins have Hayes, and both have been inconsistent this year. I just don't think it's wise to have all these inconsistent scoring wingers. Connolly, Hayes, Vatrano (who i like), and even marchand can go on cold-spells. I feel that 2 million is served better elsewhere. Plus, unless Connolly flicks a switch and goes on an absolute tear, I don't see him putting up numbers that will get him a double in salary.

Compare Brett Connolly's production to Derek Dorsett's ($2.65m), that alone is enough comparison to double his salary. Yandle, Krug and Eriksson are being paid market value - whether or not Boston should do it it one's own opinion, but that is what they would command on the open market.

UFAs such a Yandle and Eriksson will likely get more than their value.....it's just takes one team as you suggest.

Krug and Connolly are RFAs, so their salary...demands or commands is generally more limited.
