This team looks just as bad.

Next couple years are very dependent on the success of Pouliot and Murray. Sheary and Bennett individually have looked like the perfect replacements on Crosby's wings. Sprong should be a viable top 6 winger. Simon/Sundqvist should both be decent 3Cs in the future. We're missing a lot of depth at LW (I signed a FA to help) and health remains a concern.

I hope for more change than this in the offseason, this team needs a big shake-up and 5 or 6 names have changed here, 2 if you dont count call ups

But Schengel is realistic....Pens don't have much cap room to make many changes for established players. Letang, Malkin, Sid, and Kessell take about 42 per cent of cap space. Pens are going to have young players develop to be NHL players on their entry level contracts or low salaries elsewhere.

Exactly the problem if we make the playoffs only to have a first round exit. We need to decide whether we are buyers or sellers at the deadline ASAP. Buying will cost us this year's first round pick + any return for Perron etc.
