The value is there for the Hawks to accept. I'd need to have a conversation with Rutger that he'd need to be on the same page with. You're competing for an NHL roster spot. We've got a lot of prospects competing for NHL spots. If you can handle the competition, then yes I'd do the trade. If he thinks the AHL isn't worth his time...i would not do this trade.

The Hawks have 0 prospects the level of McGroarty - the Hawks should do this deal in a heartbeat if Winnipeg would do it, which they won't....The Jets want NHL players and a pick (in my opinion)....this deal would be for 18th pick + Del Mastro or Murphy (with the Hawks retaining some of Murphy's salary or the Jets adding in Schmidt)....

But, if that is a typo, yes, I absolutely agree. If he wants a guaranteed NHL roster spot and thinks the AHL is beneath him, that is a big old red flag.

Just curious, isn't most of WPG's right side gone now? Just Pionk left? Fabbro is a top-4 dman and Tomasino is a projected top-6 wing prospect. Not sure how those two plus a first isn't fulfilling a need that WPG has.

It depends what happens with DeMelo. As of now the Jets NHL RHD are Pionk and DeMelo. I don't mind Fabbro, but he's not a top 4 guy, he's an average bottom pairing guy and a little on the small side.

Tomasino wasn't offered, but looks like a bottom 6 guy as does Z L'H. But that might depend on what the Jets scouts think of them. There just anything there that helps the Jets.

Thats fair, I had mentioned in my previous comment that NSH wouldn't move L'Heueruex, they are more likely to move Tomasino, which is what I still had in my head when I asked the question. I would say neither of them are going to be bottom 6 guys, especially L'Heuruex. Tomasino likely ends up a 2nd line guy and L'Heuruex has similar potential now, but is younger and plays a game that fits Burnette's style more.

Fabbro was benched for portions of this season because NSH had 4 RD's on the roster and Burnette couldn't make up his mind on who to play, but Fabbro was Josi's best partner all year and he likely plays with Josi all next year. Is he a true number 2? No. But is he a solid defenseman who can play in someone's top 4 for cheap? Absolutely. That said, if there isn't interest that is completely fine.
