Farabee is a 0.54 PPG player and Frost is a 0.48 PPG player, and both are left-handed. Zegras is younger, doesn't cost much more than Farabee and is a 0.73 PPG player despite his injury-riddled 2023-2024 season. Anaheim passes.

I think that it will take Tyson Foerster and your 2024 first to get Zegras out of Anaheim.

No cap crunch, so JG's contract isn't the burden people think it is, and no need to LTIRetire Ellis (try TB or TOR). Production is down, but he was still our team leader in points the past two seasons, and his production will only improve as the young guns (i.e. Fantilli, et al) improve.

Cam is overpaid and, as much as I love him, is a dump at that amount. You'd have to add more for any team to take that. Even half-retained, he's pretty redundant to a CBJ squad that is trying to trim our B9 guys, not add to them.

Two 2nds aren't moving the needle for this trade.

To your logic, Cam Atkinson is a 0.62 ppg player. Career ppg is one of the worst stats to use to determine player value.

On the contrary . . . career PPG is an excellent way to determine player value when the three similar-aged players concerned all have 5 seasons in. Cam Atkinson has 13 seasons in 14 years and is 34 years old, so the comparison is so unrelated as to be intellectually dishonest.

I love the Gaudreau trade for both sides. Zegras is worth more. Risto is a cap dump.

Young players fall off sometimes.

Using an example that hits close to home, Galchenyuk was only 25 when he completely fell off. Using the career ppg to determine his value back in 2020 would have been completely deceiving for teams, as they would have paid a 1st+ for a guy that was worth approximately a 3rd at the time of the PIT-MIN deal.

Using the ppg of the last 2-3 years is a good indicator, but not the whole career.

Leafs pass. Ristolainen is useless and the Leafs have enough “snarl” on the back end
