Description
Necas / Zegras / Stamkos aint coming to MTL

Marchessault is a lock MTL, final 2 games in VGK relegated 2nd PP, no-respect for your Conn Smyte.

Draft Lindstrom for size if we're lucky

Similar to Newhook being traded after a cup win (pick 31 &37), I would see Kakko / Lundell being dealt the same way

ARMIA/Dvorak out at TDL make space for Roy

Anderson dumped 2025 to Philly/Washington/Islanders/Blues when they realize they have to rebuild.

Hutson/reinbacher 1st pair 1 year in laval

Holloway moves up and down lineup

What would be the ask for this ? He's a local kid don't see him leaving or whatever but I'm curious how high fans are on him ?

Higher then KJ ? I know you guys need high end forward talent but that's not what we'd be offering. Spare me with you have don't have what we need. Is he still worth a top 15 overall value ?

Did I miss something ? Every Leafs fans is offering a 4 and 5th for him... We're not trading him in the off-season (maybe TDL), he's a steady 7th D and he knows his role, no need to bring an AHL Guy to bench him 2/3 games....

KJ probably has the higher overall ceiling...he can be a PPG guy.

We are definitely high on Silly...great bounce-back year for the kid. I think his ceiling is a solid 2C, and could make a great 1-2 punch with Fantilli. I'd say he's only getting moved for a Top-15. He's produced more, played more, and is slightly younger than, Dach was when he got traded.

Which, you can "spare me" all you want, unless you want to make it an overcomplicated trade involving your '24 1st, I just dont really look at your roster and see anything I want/ know I can get.

If you arent offering an improvement on Silly, which would be young, high end forward talent, then you dont have what it takes to get him. You arent going to get our talented young forward for your peanuts, sorry.

Edmonton declines. Holloway is taking a massive step forward right now, they'ld rather keep him.

I could see them offering something for Barron, but it won't be a lot.

"I know you guys need high end forward talent but that's not what we'd be offering. Spare me with you have don't have what we need."

Well, then, the only possible answer is a simple "no", without elaboration, because you've explicitly requested not to hear the actual reasons why it's a nonstarter.

Best case scenario for Sillinger is probably Anthony Cirelli. Good defensive 2/3C on a contender. He won’t even be 21 for ten more days, so no reason to move on yet. So not as high a ceiling as KJ but less likely to be traded, if that makes sense.

Fair enough, not the best trade partners cause we're at a similar spot in the rebuild and needing the same thing.

However I would imagine Harris + Beck + Winnipeg 1st would make it value wise (overpay imo not peanuts) but this might just make the team Mid. Dach (former 3OA) higher ceiling then Sillinger at the time got traded for 13 OA.

We arent interested in quantity over quality. Harris, Beck and a late 1st does not meet any of our needs, so we would have no reason to make that trade. You would have to offer a high end piece that results in us getting a comparable value player, so either a top 6 caliber prospect or a top 15 pick. It going to be painful to trade for a talented young player, you would be losing a player or asset that you dont want to.
