Of course I would accept this offer as the Anaheim GM, but I don't think that Montreal should make it. If Gallagher and/or his contract is such a burden, just buy him out, don't spend a first-round draft pick to get rid of him, especially one that is likely to be a top-10 pick.

Bedard > Celebrini and he couldn’t move the needle for Hawks.
Habs are a last place team three years running; even with your preposterous trade proposals (no team wants Gallagher or Anderson and why would Wings pay you to take their starting goalie, one year from FA) , playoffs for Habs next year is a pipe dream. Thankfully.

laugh Guentzel is getting closer to $9,000,000 per and Marchessault $7,000,000 per and neither are wasting their time on a rebuilding team.

And we sure as hell aren't giving up a 2nd to move Husso's contract. Husso is only getting moved if we're acquiring either John Gibson, juuse Saros or Linus Ullmark.

Take a look at the Buyout Calculator. The only even slightly painful cap hit ($4,666,667) is in Season Three (2026-2067) and we get Montreal's 2025 first (NOT the Calgary pick). As long as it's only top-5 protected, I don't see how we could turn this down, or how Montreal could offer it.

Your idiocy is shining bright here. You start by saying Bedard didn't move the needle for the Hawks...except he was their best player.
Next look at how empty that team is.
Habs were last place ONCE, not three years running...
Personally I don't care about these trades but you're still an idiot.
Enjoy round 1 Mitchy

Last place in division bud, that’s generally how playoff positions are determined. Bedard is their best player and they still finished last in their division, so thanks for not understanding a pretty simple argument. I would write slower to help your understanding but 🤷🏻.
I will enjoy round 1 (I know you’ll be watching); enjoy the draft 😉.

MTL has 2 future 50 goal scorers. Comparing that roster to Chicago’s with a bunch of AHL plugs and Bedard doesn’t prove your point at all. Adding Celebrini would immediately put this team in playoff contention

Cost of moving an underperforming goalie for one season at 4.75 TO the Habs = Detroit’s middle of the round 2nd this season.

Cost of moving an underperforming forward who’s best season was 2018-19 at 5.5 for 3 more seasons FROM the Habs = Colorado’s end of the 2nd round pick this season.

Hmm

2 future 50 goal scorers, right 😂. But even they couldn’t help you avoid basement of Atlantic (3rd time running) & 27th overall. Your odds at first overall are 7.5% 🤷🏻, but still higher than I’d put your odds at making playoffs next year so there’s that

If the plan is to make the playoffs, then ANA doesn't accept this pick at the Pick 16-20 + Gallagher

I guess I figured the sarcasm would’ve been apparent when I said “DUH” after suggesting a midget defenseman who hasn’t played a single NHL game was on his way to a 50 goal season…
