The worst thing Philly can do is trick themselves into thinking they have a cup contending team after this year. They have a team built for the future but this team isn't close to contending the next 2-4 years, they shouldn't sacrifice a strong future team just because they lucked into a WC2 spot in a weak conference.

Agree, I feel like some Flyers fans have started thinking that this team is close to being a playoff contender which is just not the case. The reason they are even in the position they are in is because they are overachieving and other metro teams like Devils and Penguins are underachieving this year.

This team would be contending for WC spots, if Devils, Sens and Sabres are as bad as they have been this season. No need to use assets to make this team minimally better.

And even if they would try to make contending team and would just need a goalie, Gibson wouldn't be the goalie I'd be looking for. Rather improve the package and go for Saros or Ullmark, who have been a lot better than him.

You're lying if you think Zamula is an AHL defenseman after this season. Given how Gibson is 30 and has a .890 he really isn't going to fetch much back.

Tracey has not shown enough to be worth Foerster and a 1st, and Gibson has underperformed, as much as I love the guy.
