Description
This team is 4th in the metro in point %. So they can compete for third and compete for 2 wild card spots. Sullivan and the coaching staff especially the powerplay coach should be gone. Edmonton struggled early on, changed things up and now they're doing great. Sullivan has brought this team nothing but first round exits or no playoffs at all since 2017. Time to go since almost 10 years ago. Also this team is sleeping when they need pieces. They clearly need more strength in areas and arent too far off from playoffs but havent done anything significant since the offseason. They're a bubble team that have shown struggles so go out and make moves to improve the team not tear it down like trading Guentzel. Jarry may be doing good but so is Ned and for so much less money which is really important. They should trade Jarry and run with ned and a new guy. Also the defense needs a couple more solid pieces. The top 4 best d on this team are solid but the rest are really just 7th d. And we need more top 6 talent. We also need a good 3rd line centre. Eller and acciari are good but should probably grind on the 4th line together and both can play center or wing.

Absolutely zero chance Minnesota trades Brodin, much less while retaining 50%. It's laughably bad.

Kuraly is the local kid, and a team leader. I doubt he gets moved.

If anything, he probably signs an extension this offseason.

Yea maybe it's just I'm not sure how little he's valued. His cap hits are always really low and he's never traded for much

Past trades:

Traded from Arizona Coyotes with Nick Ritchie to Calgary Flames for Brett Ritchie and Connor Mackey

Traded from Detroit Red Wings to Los Angeles Kings for round 7 pick in the 2022 draft

Contracts:
2.3 million
1.7 million
1.2 million
1.1 million

In my opinion though, I think he's severely underrated by the league. Could easily get more in trades and contracts, even his highest contract could've been double based on similar defenders like marcus pettersson.

Ill admit it could definitely take another sweetener but there's no bad players going the other way. Jarry is great and joseph can definitely turn into something, he's shown he's one of the fastest skaters in the league too. Along with high picks.
Minnesota on the other hand, it could be argued fluery is the lowest of value in this deal due to contract and performance.

i love stecher for 5/6 D he is steady no flash but no blaring mistakes. you watch coyotes game and he does nothing great but never makes mistake. i meant sweetner to take carter, i know its rental but a 4th is better than taking carter - he is totally useless for AZ.
BTW Ill bet AZ signs stecher for 2 years @ 1.5m

Brodin isn't available and if he was, we sure as hell wouldn't be retaining 50% for 4+ years in exchange for a goalie, an unimpressive defenseman who "can definitely turn into somebody" and 2 picks in 2026. That's insane.

Fleury is almost completely irrelevant to my decision here. Take him out and it wouldn't change anything. We already have $14.74 million in dead cap space this year and next. You're proposing we give you our top shutdown defenseman and make it $17.74 million in dead cap. Jarry isn't bad, but he isn't cheap (remember the dead cap?) and he's signed to term when we have our goalie of the future (Wallstedt) ready to make the jump to the NHL very soon. POJ is playing 13 minutes with uninspiring defensive metrics. The 2 picks lose a lot of value being that far off. Unless you go into a full burn it to the ground rebuild, which I doubt happens, those picks won't be particularly early either.

In other words, this trade makes absolutely no sense from Minnesota's perspective and gets shut down immediately.
