Hawks aren't spending a 2nd and a 3rd for a 3rd pair RD. Which is what Lilypad would be behind Jones and Murphy. If Hawks are trading away a 2nd, it's to move up in the draft or acquire a young, big-bodied top 6 forward.

Its one thing for a leafs fan to remark that theyre ready to trade him but his underlying numbers have indicated hes actually a really solid play driver and solid at the least defensively. Would his timeline necessarily fit ours? Not better than a draft pick would, but if they dont have any particular first round grades left on anybody i would probably make this deal since Rinzel isnt signing yet and Murphy's future here probably doesnt extend beyond his current contract. If you can dump Murphy off somewhere and get a 2nd or two or whatnot, that makes this trade a wash, and I think we win in that scenario

I do agree with this. His metrics and baseline stats say he is a good player. Keefe doesn't run a strong defensive game. He depends largely on a possession driven game, and uses Lily in a way that doesn't suit his skillset. Lily is only 24, hewill be fine, some people are way too hard on him.

As a CHI fan, I would be interested in acquiring Lily. But only as part of a larger deal. I doubt CHI would just buy him outright.
