Who are you trying to convince? You could take Guttman out of the deal and CHI would still say no. Meyers + a 5th and a 6th are not enough to dump RyJo. Meyers wouldn't make the team, either. And if he did, it would be purely as a stop gap until someone was ready to take his place. If COL and CHI are making a deal surrounding RyJo, COL is going to pay for dumping him. I'm not sure there is any team that would assign positive value to him.

No. I'm not. Aside from you, it is almost unanimously accepted that RyJo is a cap dump. But, you could even remove RyJo from the trade and CHI would still decline. That is how bad it is. I would rather play Guttman and see how he progresses than receive two picks that have a 2% chance of even getting ELC's, let alone playing the NHL, and an AHL player. Your opinion on this matter is not needed. I am right you are wrong. Move on.

For real, though, I'm not wrong. Also, that is a bad reason to hold a player back and keep them in the AHL. Regardless, we have plenty of bottom 6 forwards and plenty more on the way. We don't need him and we don't need RyJo... for any reason... at all... If you can sell those players to some other team for positive value, then by all means, go for it. But it will never be CHI. And no, it isn't "just CHI fans", i've seen plenty of fans of other teams say the same thing.

If RyJo is so good, why does almost every COL ACGM propose moving him? And, why doesn't COL just keep him? If you honestly don't see how that trade is awful for CHI, you really need to rethink everything you think you know about hockey business.

Yes. Saying "CHI would be dumb not to take that" is so polite. Your valuation of all pieces and players involved in the trade is completely backwards and biased. I am not arrogant or ignorant, I just know that I am right. I am perfectly willing to admit when I am wrong, but i'm not wrong on this.

RyJo has a good shot and HEAVILY benefits from the players around him, and even then he still can't play up to his already 50% retained AAV. The dude sucks on one of the best teams in the league, how do you think he would look on one of the worst? He is not an improvement and nor would Meyers be, on any of the players we currently have. Guttman however is young and upcoming, he has shown a high level of skill at all levels, is on his ELC, is waiver exempt, and is a pending RFA under control for a few more years. He is easily worth more than any piece this proposal is sending, and then you add in that COL wants to dump RyJo's contract on top of it.... How does that make any sense for CHI?

I have not misconstrued a single thing you have said. You were not being polite. Being condescending in a polite tone doesn't make it polite. You have incessantly argued your case, and you are wrong. Accept it and move on.

I am an "armchair GM", sure. But that doesn't mean we are all equal.
