Why are St Louis and Philly, who are both well in the race, selling guys cheap to the Leafs???

Why is Minnesota selling a young prospect plus a pick downgrade for a guy who has had difficulty staying in a few team's lineup?

Leafs would get outbid on all 3 in any case.

What the Blues paid for Hayes is entirely irrelevant, bud. And the Blues won't be ditching Hayes AND retaining a silly amount for multiple seasons for peanuts at this time, thanks.

I dont know about hayes, theres better options at center like sissons that dont make the team thats already a bit below average on footspeed even worse, imagine having Tavares labor around the ice, finally get off after a 2 minute shift, and the next guy that comes on is kevin hayes lol

It always amazes me how "play a bottom pairing guy on the top pairing" is such a viable solution to so many people.
It is a legitimately terrible idea and rielly carrying schenn for 7 games doesnt make it a good one.

I don't think the Blues are going to trade their 3C and retain salary without getting a 2C in return.

Kevin Hayes at 7m is a cap dump. Kevin Hayes at 3.5 has been just fine for a 3C.

Let’s also factor in that Philadelphia traded Hayes because he and Torts didn’t see eye to eye in regards to how Hayes should be playing.

What are the Blues trading Hayes for?

I don't hate that return for Seeler, I think he could bring more though.

Hayes is a serviceable 3C for us. No need to trade him right now because we don't have anyone to replace him just yet. Our prospects needs some more time in the AHL. Maybe in the offseason or at next years TDL I can see us trading him.
