That Montreal trade is a massive overpay! I wouldn't trade Brzustewicz straight up for Monahan.

Not a 1st for Monahan.

Brzustewicz Is a nice trade piece for Van. He is expendable as Van will have Hronek and Willander as the top 2 RHD for years.

Nucks decline both trades easily. Aman is our future 4C, he works in our system, I wouldn't want to trade him. As for that MTL trade; the return is bananas, Monahan is NOT worth that much.

Although I agree that Brzustewicz will be a valuable trade piece, it's not yet. He's having a breakout/transformational season, and if it continues, there's an argument that he might push Willander for that spot. I'd see what the kid develops into first, because if he projects to be a star, you could trade him for a huge haul, not a 3rd line rental player.

No it's not, this is basically a 1st + 2nd or 3rd, which is pretty fair value.

Canucks can just keep Truscott since he adds no value to the deal and Habs probably wouldn't even sign him once his NCAA career is done.

No

Wallander was just Promoted in Decemeber to Top Pair with Hutson
He's on the #2 team in the entire NCAA on its top pair rookie year in the NCAA(not unheard of but not Common its usually earner 85% of the time over 1-2 years)

While Kingston Rangers are doing good.
They're one of the best in the at 3rd in the league
But Caron and the Defense infront of him play a complete 200 ft game with only 49 goals against him all year.
Both Malbouef and Parsons get hung out to dry regularly by the Rangers who give up a lot of unnecessary goals

One leads a Championship team or helps as he learns how to take the reigns from Hutson before he turns Pro in Wallander
One lead a Playoff long shot to make it to a Memorial Cup let alone a League Title and i say that as a Huge Mesar Fan wishing they were Contenders for very selfish reasons

That said all this aside for the trade i still like Johansson better as he fits an AHL need today for a Playoff run this year
Hunter fits and works just as well in the long term for us but i'd rather add depth now and Johansons a boring #4 Defensive D who fits the needs

I refuse to believe a Canucks fan made this. Remove the top ohl scorer as a D than it’s fair

Price is way too high for Monahan. Even with a premium. Good prospect (Karlsson), 3rd and 4th.

Don't get me wrong here Billy, I'm not bashing Willander, but I think we know what Willander is. We don't know what Hunter can be just yet, because he's CRUSHING expectations this year. He can play a solid defensive game and control the pace of play. I've watched him play now eight times.....in KITCHENER....not Kingston...and he is the real deal. He is one of, if not the main reason, that Kitchener is outperforming expectations this year. Selling early on him would be dumb. Selling early on him for a TERRIBLE return is grounds for being fired as a GM.

Trade him for a top notch player, then fine. Trade him for a 3rd line centre (which we already have three) who is only a rental? Then pack your bags Alvin, because you're fired.

Good joke. Brz is looking like an absolute steal from the draft - top scorer in the OHL as a d-man. Monahan for two 2nd rounders tops.

What a bad joke this comment is, it takes more than just putting up points to be a 1st round pick, especially for a D man, Lane Hutson wasn't a 1st round pick and he scored at a much higher pace than Brz is in a much tougher league in his D1 year. Watch a Kitchener game, Brz leaves his goalies to fend for themselves 90% of the time, he doesn't know how to play defense. The rangers would be better off moving him to the wing and putting someone back there that can actually defend the front of the net.
