  1. Holloway, Dylan [Droits de RFA]
  2. Choix de 1e ronde en 2024 (EDM)
Détails additionnels:
Montreal received another asset for their rebuild. Holloway had only 9 points in 51 games last season. This year, he only got 1 goal in 14 games before he got injured.
EDM
  1. Matheson, Michael
  2. Pezzetta, Michael
Détails additionnels:
Edmonton had a difficult start of season but are now in a playoff spot. I think Cody Ceci is struggling this season and a new defenseman should be add in their top 4 with Bouchard, Nurse and Elkhom. Plus, Pezzetta could add some energy on a 4th line.

I see this trade like Anderson for Huberdeau and a first round pick for no retained salary on Huberdeau and for Struble.

  1. Anderson, Josh
  2. Kovacevic, Johnathan
  3. Struble, Jayden
Détails additionnels:
Calgary is probably gonna trade Tanev and Hanifin so they need defenseman. I think Struble and Kovacevic is good for them because they will probably try to get a younger team and those two defenseman are young and already NHL level.

Savard is a bottom pairing guy who makes too much and has term, he's not a solid defender by any means and hasnt been in years.
He blocks lots of shots because he cant get the puck out of his own zone or away from any forward he faces and every single hab does better away from him

    Absolutely correct.

Right now (i.e., prior to the trade deadline, when he will still be on the LTIR list), with multiple injuries this season, his trade value is at a cannot-go-lower low. It is possible that if he rehabilitates his true value when he returns and plays out the balance of the season at a point-a-game pace, Anaheim might consider trading him in the off-season, but only if presented with the proper offer. As we Anaheim stalwarts have maintained all along, unless someone like Slafkovsky (HIGHLY unlikely) or Reinbacher is included, or Montreal's 2024 first plus excellent prospects at RW and RhD, the Ducks are perfectly happy to continue with him on the roster. We have no real incentive to move him because whatever the return might be, that won't put us over the top any more than having him and Mintyukov and Carlsson healthy will -- more is needed and will take at least a season or two to arrive.

Though we don't agree on a lot, it seems we agree on Zegras' value and what the likely package would be for him from the Habs. We agree that Slaf and Reinbacher are likely off the table from the Habs perspective and as a result the package would have to be built around our 2024 1st and prospects, I believe we even have agreed on the prospects in other past ACGM's (Mesar and Farrell). Personally, I would make this swap at the draft providing Lindstrom is off the board, for me outside the top 3 he is the only other prospect in this draft I would pass on Zegras for. I think Zegras as a Hab would be amazing and he would not only thrive playing with CC and NS but also under the tutelage of MSL.

    Calgary says no thanks.

Monahan isn't fetching anything close to a 1st either. He might fetch a 3rd with 50% retention.

Huberdeau from aged 30-36 at 10.5 million with the last two seasons that he has had... I think it fits the timeline to continue to play slavkovsky with the top line. it is very difficullt to say you'll ever see the Huberdeau that was in Florida again and even at his best in flordia he disappeared in the playoffs. Pass.

I don't think Matheson would be their guy. I think if they are looking to replace Ceci they would want a right shot and maybe more defensive minded. would you do Holloway for Savard/Pezzetta, and if they want us to take ceci back they can add a pick?

There is really no possible way to be constructive on that Calgary trade. Flames simply decline because it's a horribly lopsided offer

I do like Matheson but the money just wouldn't work , you would have to keep Pezzetta and take one of Kulak or Ceci.

So heres the thing with savard and why i dont like his fit on the leafs, Savard is basically just a right handed benoit/lagesson, provides no puck moving skill and all defense/blocked shots/physicality whatever.
Savard has a much worse contract than league minimum benoit and lagesson. thats why i don't think the leafs should/would do this

Oilers decline i think. Holloways raw stats are not good, but watching him play and looking at his underlying numbers, he looks like a player thats about to pop anyday. and I know this sounds dumb talking about a guy who has 10 pts in 65 nhl games but, the fact that they wouldnt put him in a deal for chychurun last year makes me think that hes as untouchable as a prospect that we have.
