Johansen is not worth his $8M cap hit clearly, so there's a cost to move $8M in cap.

The 2nd gets you Mrazek, probably a 2nd and 4th for T Johnson both retained, but Johansen is going to cost a fair amount additional to unload $8M of cap.

It’s not 8M, RyJo is 4M

Yeah Frost is difficult to gauge, but even with occassional scratches and up/down the lineup/different lines/linemates, hes going well over .5pts a game, and put up 46 pts last year on a really bad offensive team.

Hes just 24 yrs old, signed cheap for 2 years, and while not a surefire 2C at this point, you cant deny the production on a bad team in 2023 and his production in harsh circumstances this year.

Hes definitekly worth a late in the round 1st and a bit more.

I doubt Mrazek nets a 2nd. I think Mrazek and Johnson (both retained) each net a 3rd so both together could bring a 2nd. Then there's RyJo. It costs to move him so there needs to be another pick/prospect included.

Mrazek most likely gets extended not traded. Tyler can easily be had (if healthy) , the retention slot will be used on the biggest bang of their buck deal Hawks can find. Ryan is of no interest to the Hawks. They would only bring him in if it was a cap dump deal where picks /prospects were attached to him. How Nashville agreed to retain 50% on him, I will never understand. Or gave him 8mil for that matter.

I wouldn't give up on Frost yet, at least not with this package.

Av's would need to add at least another 3rd to that Hawks deal. Ryjo is still a capable NHL player, but from the Hawks perspective he's a pure cap dump. And it's probably more likely that the Hawks re-sign Mrazak than trade him.
