Two changes are needed

1. Fire Keefe

2. Improve the Dcore

As Sammy despite the end number looked better than he had in weeks, wish he would have got help but you get it

Big 4 also need to wake the **** up

i agree with both, i think they already have the right GUY (nice pun eh?) behind the bench
boucher cares about defensive hockey

larsson would be a great start on D
jenner and Carcone would be a nice help on D upfront too

Forward to me is not the issue if the big 4 specifically JT and Willy wake the **** up so no need to go get.

But for Coach well who just got fired from STL

Craig Berube

Gimmie that guy

Berube will never be an assistant and I dont like the idea Boucher as a HC. His system is to easy to read

Keep Boucher as pp coach and just replace Keefe.

Well, right off the top, the first two are very much being used by their current teams at this time. Larsson is Seattle's 1RD, the hardest position to man in hockey, and is still signed cheap for next season, and you've not offered any replacement. Presumably, the offer would need to include Lily to even get an audience in Seattle. Cardone is scoring goals for peanuts and is still signed next season, and Arizona is no longer in teardown rebuild phase. On the last one l, deferring the 1st three years is likely a non-starter considering you want their captain, retained, plus more picks back.

It's almost never just about "value". Things have to make sense and fit. Usually, anyway.

The Leafs do need one more top 4 D at least, to improve their Dcore but Larsson would probably be too expensive to acquire/unavailable. He definitely would be a great addition though.

Jenner and Carcone might be nice adds as well, but something that needs to change is the trend of NHL-ready Marlies being unable to crack the lineup and eventually becoming regular NHLers for other organizations. A guy like Holmberg who is playing well, should be kept in the bottom 6, and be given some runway.

laugh No team is wasting a retention slot on Boone Jenner for the next 3 years for a lousy 4th and 5th round picks.

Poon Jenner isn't available.

Seattle has won 9 in a row so Larsson isn't available.

Fire Keefe and Shammy. Hire Berube.

I don't think the Leafs even have enough realistic trade assets to get Boone 75% retained. The value of a player like him at ~$950K for 2.5 years is insane.

FWIW I don't think your offer from Larsson is all that far off in a vacuum, it's just that the Kraken aren't going to be inclined to trade him anytime soon. With how they've clawed their way back into the postseason picture and how important Larsson is to the team, Seattle can't really afford to lose him.

When you go 50% retained by one team and then 50% retained by another it's 75% retained in total. I'm assuming that's what you wanted with that additional team retaining anyway.

If I'm reading it right, I think it's legitimately just 50% retained by another team, without Columbus retaining any. That's...rare, to say the least. Jenner is already so cheap and so valuable, that I think the offer gets beat by a team who doesn't need the retention. Locking up that slot for 2.5 years is a big ask, especially on a deal that doesn't really require it.

I think we're getting there in value, but it's still not enough for Jenner mostly because 1) Columbus is sending the 2nd-best pick in the deal, and 2) the first isn't this year, or even the year after. For a team that wants to compete next year, anything beyond 2024 doesn't justify moving a guy who very clearly helps now.

Worth discussing here since it's at least an honest attempt at a Jenner trade: Jarmo and JD would still need to be fired before this move takes place IMO, among other things. Otherwise, Jenner isn't available. If he is made available, I think it's 2024 1st, Minten or Cowan, and a 2nd; otherwise, Toronto gets beat out by another contender looking for a 2C/very good 3C. That's a loooong list without many options this season for rentals: Colorado, Seattle, Vancouver, Winnipeg, Carolina, NYR, Florida, and Boston at least would all be in on him.
