And ever since Chabot signed his ridiculous contract Ive been saying it was a mistake

What would you want from the Jets for either of them?

Think the Jets really need a top 4 upgrade, handedness is an issue as they need a right moreso but there's just no RHD available so gotta make it work with a lefty on his offhand, it works fine for Schmidt.

Any deal starts with a 1st ++ . And since the Jets 1st is probably 28-29 pick , then probably even more than just a 1st and a B+ prospect

They're both elite two-way Top 4 defencemen.

If you want to build a winning hockey team, you don't sell something like that off unless someone pays the asking price.



This season, we've had the following problems and there were probably plenty of others:


1. New ownership didn't formally take over the team until like two weeks before opening night.

2. We needed to fire the GM for throwing away a 1st round pick among other things.

3. We needed to fire the Head Coach and did so when the season was already lost.

4. We replaced the fired Head Coach with an interim that would probably like to retire from coaching altogether.

5. Our #3 Centre gets suspended for half a season.

6. Our interim #3 Centre until the suspension is over is AHL scrub and journeyman Rourke Chartier.

7. At least two-thirds of our bottom 6 is made up of AHL scrubs on most nights (i.e. the legendary 4th line of Kelly / Kastelic / MacEwen).

8. We needed to place key players like Chabot, Greig, Joseph and Forsberg on LTIR.



It's a mess.

And it's bigger than either Chabot or Chychrun.

I'd also point out pairing Chabot and Chychrun together shouldn't be a thing anymore.

They're both left-handed, have similar playing styles and "step on each other's toes" way too often.

I wonder if Boston could offer Sens the choice over the of two picks in return since they own it currently?
