Connor Murphy to the Leafs?
No thanks.
Easy pass for the Leafs.
Trades 2 and 3???? Possibly yes?

Given how Verbeek is all about size, I simply don't see him having interest in Robertson. Not much in Anahiem organizationally that isn't 6' and around 200lbs.

Anaheim not interested in swapping Jones for Reaves, Johnston does what Revo does but frankly is better at it now.

Not moving our leading scorer.

You're kidding, right?

Take out Frank Vatrano and this idea would still be contingent on Toronto getting a second-round draft pick that the Maple Leafs don't have right now.

Hawks decline. That offer might get Murphy with no retention. With retention, takes more. Timmins value isn't going to be that high.

Connor Murphy isn't even worth a first round pick.

And yet Leaf fans on this site continually trade for him and put him on top pair w/ Reilly 🤔 If the pick is the primary asset in the trade package, Hawks likely don't trade him for less than a 1st.

dont worry people were saying at the last trade deadline that Peeke was a 1st rounder. Now look at him. Murphy is a good defender but he cant really produce points so i wouldn't trade anymore for him.

People were saying at the last trade deadline that Jake McCabe and Sam Lafferty weren't worth a first and a second . . .

Neither is Murphy. Dudes a glorified 3RD. You can ride the high of the overpayment for Mccabe, but if a team pays more than a 1st for Murphy that GM should never have a job ever again

He is not "a glorified 3-RD", he is a top 4 DEFENSIVE dman who has been mostly babysitting defensive liabilities on one of the worst teams in the league. Regardless, retention slots and cap space are valuable assets by themselves, any trade with retention costs more than without retention. So, if a team were to pay more for 3 years of retention, that isn't the same as "paying more than a 1st for Murphy", they are paying for Murphy AND cap space. A defensive dman who can effectively play 18-20 minutes a game at $2.2M for 3 seasons is not an easy thing to come by.

It doesn't seem like he's doing a whole lot of babysitting. If he's getting shelled playing 19-20 minutes a night then he's probably not that good. There's really no evidence to suggest he'd be all that good on a better team, either, as he's always been very mediocre throughout his career.

Definitely not worth a first+ in my eyes.

Again, paying for a player with and without retention are two different things. Last year CHI was another bottom of the league team with a lot of defensive liabilities.

Lmao another analytics guy.🤦‍♂️. You realize he is surrounded by rookies right? Put any D in Murpheys spot and watch his analytics go for a 💩. Silly argument. Watch the games

When he was on Chi with Kane and Toews near the end of their career? or when he played on Arz when they were still fresh? Come on man. You are basing all your information off numbers. He has played on bad teams and has been nothing but a mentor for rookie D men.

That is a cop out. Good players still show out even on not so great teams.

Choosing to ignore the stats that show he's been mediocre his entire career because "team no good" is grasping at the smallest straw imaginable. Murphy was never THAT guy

I would love for Brodie and Murphy to swap teams to watch and then compare numbers.
Also Liljegren has better analytics than Jiricek. Does that make him better?
I’m done arguing over opinions. Just saying numbers don’t always tell the story.
