#rentfree . You’re in 28th place about to miss playoffs for 7th straight year and you’re taking shots at the Leafs 😅
Just to add. Though I'm not really happy how the Leafs have spent their cap in recent years. Gee, the Sens couldn't even offer Pinto a reasonable contract because they were at the cap. Non playoff teams shouldn't be at the cap. And it really doesn't get easier for the Sens, Sanderson goes from 1m to 8m next season.

Agreed - some less than ideal contracts handed out in summer but good news is that most of the cap spent was on short term deals. And I like how Bertuzzi and Domi are settling in & looking more comfortable

I did not say the Sens were in a good place. Simply explaining why the Leafs won one playoff series in 7 years.
And if you want to talk about who can **** on other teams. From 2013-14 to the present, during an era when the Leafs were supposedly a cup contender for 7 years and Ottawa was in a rebuild for 7 years plus was a generally bad team in the early years, the Sens still won more playoff series' (2) than the Leafs (1).

Thanks, much appreciated. I could - unasked for of course - provide lots of reasons why SENs are amongst worst managed & worst performing teams in the league 🤷🏻 … if you’d like

Honestly, I'd be happy to hear that, as long as its not hopelessly biased commentary. I'm also interested to hear what the Sens are doing wrong and how they can do better.

Well I am biased - Leaf fan, and I really don’t like SENs or Habs. The obvious answers are horrible GM & questionable coach - but they’ve both been fired. I also honestly think that a lot of SENs core players (same goes for Habs) are not that good. Stutzle maybe (& his defensive game is not good) but no other difference makers. For that model to work / everyone has to be committed defensively because you can’t outscore your problems. Problem is you paid a lot of guys for their offense (which they’re good at but not great) and they won’t or can’t play defense. I don’t see a solution but I’m sure new GM & coach (once hired) will have some ideas but this year looks cooked

I value the input but I'm gonna have to disagree on some of those points. Josh Norris and Claude Giroux are both very good defensively and their core is absolutely good enough on paper to make the playoffs but for some reason they've been underwhelming.
