completely depends on whether calgary is looking to retool or rebuild at this point. I was contemplating using prospects like podkolzin instead of kuzmenko and adding retention to make the salary work. Lindholm makes vancouver much better, and given the oel buyout having large implications on our future cap situation, it would make sense to see what this team can accomplish this season.

i’m sure a team like san jose or chicago would be willing to take a pick to retain some of myers’s salary.

Lindholm just turned down 8 x $9,000,000 from Calgary, Zero chance in hell he signs for 5 x $7,850,000 from Vancouver. He wants the 8 x $9,000,000 period. And once Allvin signs Pettersson and Hronek he won't be able to pay that much to Elias Lindholm.

strongly disagree. Myers has been better this season, and has one year left on his contract. In no world does that warrant a first rounder being sent with him.

I thought his hesitations were simply because of calgary. His production this season does not make him more expensive than horvat, def more towards debrincat if anything

He's worthless even at 50% retained. Vancouver would have to send a pick with him to get another team to retain another 50% and still that isn't going to get you anything. He's not a good player
