Description
Would acquiring Elias Lindholm push VAN over the Top and assist with Elias Pettersson staying & extending!? Lindholm would make a Great RW/C for the Canucks, but they’d likely have to move Kuzmenko by the off-season to extend him. Soucy’s a bit expensive but he’s a local Zadorov replacement who could be used as a 2LD or 3LD/RD. Pius Suter would be more of a Defensive Faceoff Winning Centre to eat up minutes Lindholm normally would have that Ruzicka isn’t ready for, but could pitch in offensively with a Passer like Huberdeau on his Wing and Speedy Forechecker like Duclair, Mangiapane or Pospisil on the other

Will SJ Trade Kahkonen and if so, is Vladar of interest as a replacement!? I would imagine Dube would be intriguing to SJ, more so than Duclair & Kunin anyways…. Sure Dube is struggling statistically, but who isn’t on the Flames!? Not like Duclair or Kunin are exactly lighting it up themselves…. Duclair is strictly to help get $Huberdeau$ going and Kunin is a Bigger More Gritty Right Shot who fills a Bottom-6 need better than Dube does imo… Maybe Kunin & Duclair aren’t needs, but I certainly like the Speed, Aggression and Play Style’s they both bring…

Do these Trades ASAP to see whether it’s a fit before the Deadline, so both Hanifin & Tanev can decide whether they want to stay or go

We’ll still have to make room for Pelletier next year as well as Schwindt & Solovyov as all 3 are in their last season of Waivers Eligibility… Coronato, Klapka, Poirier & Kuznetsov still have 2 season remaining, but will be pushing for Roster Spots next season as well

The second trade looks terrible.
There is no way Canucks are getting rid of Suter and Soucy.
Canucks are not interested in Lindholm.

I wouldn't say that Van wouldn't be interested in Lindholm but agreed not at that price. His value would be same as Horvat trade last year. Salary dump (Beauvillier), good prospect (Raty) and a 1st (with protection)

Canucks aren’t giving up that much for pending UFA Lindholm. 1st + Raty/Brzustewicz + salary filler is more reasonable (similar to the Horvat trade)

Sharks don’t have any interest in Vladar, if anything I would expect a younger guy who is blocked at the NHL level (like wolf but you guys aren’t trading Wolf)

That’s what I did…. Don’t forget, VAN’s 1st was projected to be 13th Overall when Bo was Traded, but slid to 17th Overall. Also, Raty was projected to be a mid-1st Round Pick. Beauvillier = Soucy and I added a depth D and Nikoleyev for Pius Suter. Flames’ll need a replacement Centre

Seriously, you’d prefer Soucy & Suter over Lindholm, are you crazy!? Soucy is expendable with the acquisition of Zadorov and having Ian Cole, while Lindholm >>> Suter and would instantly be VAN’s BEST RW’er

See the above. Where do you see VAN finishing in the standings this year, especially after acquiring Lindholm!? That pick would be super late and brutal compared to the one NYI received for Horvat, so Lek is a must = mid- 1st

VAN’s 2024-1st is closer to Raty’s value considering how late it will likely be and Soucy = Beauvillier is the salary filler

Flames’ll want/need Suter to help replace the minutes Lindholm does for us, especially on the PK

Whoever eventually acquires Vladar and gives him a chance at the Starting Position will be extremely & pleasantly surprised. His stats don’t do him justice, you gotta watch him play and take in to consideration his Winning Record for a very talented, yet inconsistent and unconnected Team that plays in front of him

Only reason he’s being offered is to make room for Wolf 🐺

Maybe we can move Markstrom out instead, that would be even more ideal for CGY tbh

That's not close to what you did or asked for. First of all the draft pick we got for Bo was top 12 protected so if it went any higher it would have become an unprotected 2024 first. For Horvat we got a bottom 6 winger on a big cap hit with term at 4.25 in Beauvillier, a 1st, and Raty who is a former second round pick.

You are asking for a former 15th overall pick, plus another first, plus a top 9 forward on a great contract and a 4/5 dman on another good contract.

Canucks are unlikely to give up Soucy as he is only 1 of 2 canuck dmen currently signed beyond this year. In order to get a package like the Canucks got for Bo they'd likely need assurance that they could resign Lindholm which I doubt they can with Pettersson and Hronek heading towards big deals.

Canucks decline. Lindholm doesn't really make sense for them. Sure, he makes the team better, but acquiring him screws over our cap situation that Allvin has worked very hard to fix. We'd either have to let Lindholm walk, in which case it's way too much to be giving up for a 1 year rental, or we'd have to let go of multiple other important pieces (Zadorov, Cole, Garland, etc.) and we'd be back to the same problem of having a top heavy lineup with an amazing top 6, two amazing defencemen, and absolutely zero depth with a bunch of league min AHLers in the bottom 6 and 2nd/3rd pairs. Just doesn't make sense from Vancouver's perspective to pursue a pending UFA C needing an expensive contract after we just dealt Horvat because he was in the exact same position as Lindholm, where we can't afford to pay them.

Sharks might be interested in Vladar. He's only 26. Kahkonen and Blackwood are both 27. We might have to replace one of them if we trade one or lose Kahkonen to free agency. Vladar seems like a decent return for Duclair.

You’re over valuing your players and discounting Beauvillier’s value at the time

VAN’s 2023-1st was projected to be 13th Overall and ended up at 17th Overall ~/= Lekkerimaki

Raty ~/= VAN’s 2024-1st Don’t forget Raty wasn’t just some 2nd Round/Good Prospect, he’s considered a Top Prospect: Raty was once considered a possible first overall for the 2021 NHL Draft.

Soucy ~/= NYI’s Former 1st Round Pick Beauvillier at the time of the Trade

You got Zadorov to replace Soucy, so give him an extension

You want to pre-negotiate and give Lindholm an extension too, go ahead, no problem. With the Cap Increasing and Myers coming off the books, it should be no problem, especially if/once you move Kuzmenko and/or Garland out as well

Most agree Lindholm is more valuable > Horvat

CGY needs C & RD Prospects

What do we want or need Behrins for!? He’s Small for a Defensemen and we already have Poirier, Solovyov, Kuznetsov, Morin and Hurtig…

COL’s 2024-1st ~/= VAN’s 2024-1st

My proposed return is better and brings a couple players back who can help us right away

Lindholm would be a Great 1RW replacement for Kuzmenko

Move Kuzmenko or Garland this season or in the off-season for Lindholm’s extension and between Myers contract expiring and the Cap going up, there’s approximately $10mil there to extend Pettersson and Hronek still = gives them a 4-5mil/yr raise each

Does VAN want to win a Stanley Cup or no!?

I believe you are overvaluing Raty's pre draft hype and your own players as well. This is moot because both Allvin and Rutherford have said the Canucks first round pick this year is not in play so I'd be shocked if they moved it especially for a rental. I honestly disagree with literally every one of your points but that's ok we're allowed to have different opinions. Ho Ho Ho

The Flames need D prospects, regardless of handedness.

Poirier and Morin are the only prospects in the system that have a chance as top 4 D. Solovyov's ceiling is a bottom pair option, he's already 23yrs old.

The reason the Flames have to roll out Oesterle, DeSimone and Gilbert is because they are very thin in D prospects.
