Fix the bottom six
Doubt the Canucks move Lafferty he's good can play up the lineup and not look out of place. Not worth it for a pick

Please get Ras off this roster
What would you guys want in return for him? Maybe prospect like Truscott and a tweener in return (Studnicka)?

And as I said again if you lowball him he probably will sign elsewhere did we not learn with Tanev to treat people who want to be here right?

Cap Space
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>westleysnipez</b></div><div>I don't think that's too low for Bear. He had 2.2M AAV last season, with a quarter of the way through the season already that would value his contract over 82 games to be closer to 2.3M because it's divided over the remaining games.</div></div>
I think if you lowball him and not factor in a raise 2.5-3m a team with cap space (like San Jose or Anaheim) for him will give it to him.

If Kessel wants more then league min I'd rather give a shot to one of the kids playing on the farm. And that's too low for Bear

Why Not
Canucks pass. Kuzmenko and Laine both have the same flaws from what I understand rather keep Kuzy who does work well with Petey. As well as 1st plus McWard.

depth moves
Why trade for Boqvist it make more sense to throw cash at Bear at least he knows our system. Better then giving up early on a prospect that is showing really well. And podz has been good til he got slewfooted and is coming back from a concussion rather keep him then roll the dice on Kaako.

Vancouver wouldn't move him for a 1st unless they had cap space for a 1st line ufa. He's more valuable to Van unless they are moving him for an improvement to the defence

Even so someone would pay more than that for Kuzy even if he finishes with 25 goals. Someone will think that it's just a sophomore slump and that he'll be back closer to 40 then 20.

Canucks should pass on Barrie I'd rather we throw 4.5m at Bear then bring in Barrie he's at least decent at defensive side of the game while moving the puck Barrie would just be out of place not having a PP to QB.

Canucks pass. Jones isn't that valuable to Vancouver he'd be competing with Hirose/Wolanin. And both have shown to work well in Tocchet's system nit sure if Jones would.

If edmonton thinks this season is lost why give up their shot at Celebrini to unload Campbell?

Honestly idk
Canucks should pass. Getting Lindholm would be nice. But Bains is looking like a steal and Tocchet loves his game. Vancouver isn't in the position to throw that much at a UFA who we won't be able to re-sign so unless Aqualini steps on Allvin/Rutherford's toes I doubt this trade would happen.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>The_Rocket</b></div><div>no chance he costs that much. p[lus, im looking at this next off season, not in season so myers/mantha are irrelevant.
im thinking the cost is closer to to burns or karlsson type of return</div></div>
Though Washington isn't rebuilding with Ovi still signed. So not going to get the rebuilding team discount like the other 2. So it will cost 1st + top prospect and could be more as other teams will be interested

If a deal were to happen itd probably be Myers, Garland,Lekkermaki or Willander, Brzustewicz or Podkolzin, and a 1st for Carlson and Mantha Retained down to balance the salaries. Which imo is too much of price from Vancouvers prospect pool. I'd rather throw 8m for short term 2/3 years at Pesce.

The rebuild is officially on
Canucks pass that would put us like 6m over the cap Poolman is all but LTIRetired. So we would need to get the space to cover that plus Tanev's contract. The Canucks probably won't move a 1st unless it's for a more long term solution.

Thoughts
Canucks pass. Garland is going for RHD or cap space. Chiarot is a fine Dman but not who they are looking for. Ideally looking for a defenseman like Bear good defensively but can move the puck or physically strong RHD net clearer. Unless it's a steal of a deal (ie. Getting a legit top pairing LHD for Garland the Canucks aren't likely to bring the player in.

Bains should be one of the last prospects we should deal. He has shown great progress and has a legit shot at eventually being a legit NHL player. Can Duclair do what PDG does for Miller/Boeser line he can but not sureif its his game.

That's fine Van isn't overly interested in him Soucy and Cole both have played the Right side. The Canucks aren't overly interested in Brodie so win-win for both sides

I can see your point for LA but Van has been trying to move Garland for some time now and looking for a D. Seems like it would help both teams if Leafs acquired the other D first.</div></div>
Van is looking for a Right handed D. When healthy Tocchet rolls LHD-RHD. If they wanted to dumb trades Garland would've been dealt already. Joshua brings something that we don't have so we aren't moving him unless the offer knocks our socks off.

Team Sticks together
Myers isn't bad when he is playing simple hockey. That said I'd rather a position be gifted to McWard over bringing back the chaos giraffe. Or get more cap space and throw it at Schneider on a like 1 year 6 mil contract if he can be offer sheeted

is this team better
Miller is better offensively than Horvat. The system we play now makes Miller look better defensively he isn't bad but he's not as good as Horvat. Horvat gets underrated imo because everyone thought he was going to be our Kesler but he isn't that good defensively. Leadership they are close if you like fiery leaders Miller is there if you want an even keeled leader Horvat. Miller's chemistry with Boeser is way better than Horvat had with really anyone on the Canucks. They are both very good players and til we traded him. I wanted to keep Horvat.
