The Islanders get a player who can play in the NHL and give up a draft pick who will likely never even sign an ECL. That's a win. It's a mostly meaningless win, but it's a win.
A 7th-round draft pick for a veteran NHL-level depth defenseman on a buriable contract. He may not be there long, but I don't see how this can be a bad move for the Islanders. I guess he's been a healthy scratch most of the season so it was time for St. Louis to do something to get him back on the ice somewhere. Trade him for whatever you can get or waive him and risk not getting anything.
Bobby Orrtuzzo, baby. I'm still mad at Chief for not playing him, but I know Army likes to grant wishes when a player wants to go find ice time. He did the same favor to Fabbri.
