Massive overpay for Laine. The guy has talent but a terrible attitude. I wouldn't want him anywhere near my team.

I like this move for the Yotes but I would say you are probably slightly shy on the value

Honestly, I'm taking Crouse every day of the week over Laine. Laine hasn't played a full season of hockey since like the 2018/2019 season I think?

If I'm AZ, I'm staying the course right now. You guys have a seriously amazing prospect pool, but I'd still hold on to picks for another year or two. I'd wait to start trading futures away until you're realistically a playoff team and need those pieces to tie the team together.

Completely agree, there's a reason Laine is being healthy scratched.

Hard call but have to pass on this one. The internet in AZ is just too good, Laine would be livestreaming his Fortnight adventures instead of showing up for practice.

He's a one-dimensional sniper, so when a sniper isn't sniping it's a problem.

Oh man, CBJ should take this all day. They need size and grit on the wing and those two 2nds are gravy. I'd do it for Crouse and one of those picks.



He's actually had a great attitude in Columbus. He's a Finn, so he projects a stoic appearance, but his actions have always spoken louder, putting in extra work in the summer and after practices, taking in Fantilli, working hard and pushing to play center to help the team, etc.

I think Columbus has misused him. He's a wing sniper, and they've worked hard to make him a 200 ft player. To his credit, his defense has massively improved and was far and away CBJ's best defensive forward last year by many metrics. The issue I see is that he's just not naturally physical, and when he forces that aspect of the game he gets injured. I think if he was stuck back on the wing and told that his only priority is to score, he'd be back to 40-50 goals in no time. That physicality on the wing is something CBJ have been sorely missing, so I'd love to bring in a player like Crouse if they ship Laine out.

I’d love to get Laine, but not at the expense of Crouse. You’re trading a guy who is scoring goals for a guy you hope can score goals, it doesn’t solve anything for Arizona it just creates a hole

I wouldn’t. He can score and that’s the most valuable commodity in the NHL, but he needs to be paired with somebody that is going to feed him. I wouldn’t want to be the team on the hook for that contract but guy has proven he can be a 40 goal scorer and is just 25, it’s not like he is MEV or something.
